Coming from a veteren in this Hip Hop game 30 years strong, trust me when I say, Drake don't want no parts of Common Sense. That is not a smart career move. Common been banging the dopest metaphors and hyperboles since 1991 easy. If by some slim chance Drake happens to read these words, please do yourself a favor and fall back homeboy.

I've seen on other blogs, these young ni99as telling Common to "sit his old a$$ down" -- please, Drake would be committing career suicide if he actually jumped out there with Common (Sense). The reason why they don't like him is because his lyrics have meaning. As @9:14 already said, Common has been spitting some of the ill-est raps, metaphors & hyperbole for a long time. Watch him on Def Poetry or listen to some of his earliest beats. Stupid ni99as won't understand because they're not socially conscious. Rappers don't sing, period.
Hip Hop has been dead for a minute, which is why rappers like Common, Talib, Mos Def, Ohene (outta Philly) & in some cases the Roots don't even get play. You're not rapping if Justin Beiber is on your record or if you're auto-tuning, if so just be a pop artist.

common i had soo much respect for u up until now. now u fall in the lil kim category. u a old azz hater. drake was never disrespectful to u nor any other artist for u to try and throw salt at him. let me ask u a question. wen were u ever "hot" as a artist? as a musician? please inform me because i dont recall. personally i think u had a "few" songs that were "decent" but NEVER to the point to where i was rushing to the store to buy an album that was yours. u barely got respect in the hip hop community and to me this just took the little you had. dont b a bitter old head. remember wen u first came out u were different n nobody felt u (they still dont) so u know how it feel. word of advice: stick to ACTING CUZ U AINT MOVING NO ALBUMS!

Respect to Common for speaking up for the REAL Hip-Hop culture. Anyone that can pretend that he has never been relevant is a pop fan not a hip-hop fan. Even Jay-Z admitted to wanting to rap like Common "Sense" in the past.
Plus, Lil Kim was on point to call out air-headed Nikki for trying to pose like her in flicks and take that persona on. These are not jealous "old headz" trying to pick fights, these are veterans attempting to preserve what is left of hip-hop.
Music like Drake's is only making way for the rise of the soft-ass gay rapper to emerge. Trust me when I say this...
Today's Summary: "Hot" = "Pop"

About time real hip hop speaks out, just like Jay did t pain, the new school hip hop is not lyrical, its abt dancing and singing, And im pleased to see common didnt back down from the comment, Drake dont want it battle wise, It aint abt selling records, only reason records selling is because little girls go out and buy albums,

The comedy behind this is that is what went down with Ice Cube and Common 10-15 years ago. Common said something and Cube called him soft.
