Ice Cube Says Pressure Drove Dr. Dre M.I.A. - "Snoop Can't Find Him Either"
Ice Cube has come out and spoken publicly about not being able to find Dr. Dre. Ice Cube even goes as far as to speculate that all of the mounting pressure, over the highly anticipated and continuously delayed Detox album, is what forced Dr. Dre to disappear. Dr. Dre has been M.I.A. when it comes to Ice Cube's new album I Am The West and Cube says that people have placed unrealistic expectations on every Dr. Dre project since The Cronic. “I didn’t get a chance to work with Dre on this record. He’s been M.I.A. for two to three months now. But I don’t feel bad, because Snoop can’t find him either. I think, really, it’s because people expect so much from him. People expect, when Dre does a record, it [will] change the trajectory of music. Not just be an album and it come out and be good. It has to come and take us in a different direction. And that’s a lot of pressure.”
