Gucci Mane Like Lil Wayne Receives 1 Year Jail Sentence
Rapper Gucci Mane was sentenced to 12 months in jail on Thursday in Atlanta, Georgia. According to his lawyer, Gucci was taken away in handcuffs for probation violation. The rapper has been free for less than nine months, after a previous probation violation landed him in jail from late 2008 until March of this year. The initial charge was for assault, dating back at least two years.
Gucci Mane, arguably at the height of his career, has an album coming out — The State vs. Radric Davis — on December 8. The number one question on everyone's mind, will this help or hurt his career?
Gucci Mane is not the only rapper to be severely punished by the justice system for parole violation. Lil Boosie was recently sentenced to four years in prison for parole violation in his home state of Louisiana.
