Will.I.Am Forced To Defend Blackface Performance At MTV VMAs
Pop star, Will.I.Am from Black Eyed Peas in his MTV VMA performance with Nicki Minaj caused quite an uproar with his all-black-everything costume. Apparently, some fans were offended by his use of black paint to match his all black outfit including some Twitterers who stated that Will.I.Am 'set us back over 1,000 years' with the blackface reference. In a recent interview, Will.I.Am had to defend his position:
"Just because I where all black, including head mask, as expression and emphasize my outfit, it shouldn't be looked at as racial," he tweeted. "Let go of the past. There are far more important things 2 bark about. (Jobs, health, education) not a black man wearing all black everything."
We think playing the race card on Will.I.Am is reading way too much into the act, what do you guys think?

I just read about this on my computer news. I think will.i.am is right about some people being too quick to attach a "racial slur" to his costume of all-black. Would all brown have also been seen as "racial"? All white? All red?
As long as people of color keep hollering "foul" it re-lights the smouldering coals of racial differences. How has his black costume set back progress by 100 years?

WILL I AM needs to go back to grade school and high school to learn how to write sentences correctly and learn how to spell the English language. If you are going to live in the USA, you need to master the language. Incorrect usage and slurring of words is ruining our country. Is everyone too tired to speak clearly?? or just too lazy???

First I am not a fan of this William guy wanna be the biggest star, what he wears is not a problem it is his attitude that i don't like, his is ugly as hell but yet he thinks he is the greatest, but anyway the costume was terrible it meant nothing, he is black no matter what.
