Tiger Woods attempts to make history as he finds himself
trailing John Daily and Rory McIlroy, the 2010 British Open Championship
leader. Tiger Woods shot 67 in the first round play and could become
the first player ever to win the British Open Championship 3 times in a
row.
John Daly tied the best score he ever shot in the Open with a 66. The story of the day is definitely Rory McIlroy, who tied the Open record with a 1st round score of 63. Rory McIlroy also tied the record for the course's back 9 holes with a score of 30 and finished in the lead at -9 under par. "The eagle on 9 really sort of turned things around for me, and I just got going from there. It was great to get into the rhythm of the round and get into a flow. And yeah, it was a very pleasant round of golf."
