The Recent Earthquake in Haiti Expose Racist Attitudes Towards Haiti and Her People
As a result of the recent Earthquake in Haiti, tens of thousands of Haitians are dead, with at least one official estimating the number could reach half a million when the full, horrifying effects of Tuesday night’s earthquake in the island nation are finally known. It is hard to imagine that anyone would use a tragic event such as this as an opportunity to spew racist hate speech. However, Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson has found a way to do the near impossible.
Following the Earthquake, Rush Limbaugh had this to say:
"This will play right into Obama's hands. Humanitarian, compassionate. They'll use this to, to burnish their, shall we say, credibility with the black community, the both light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in, in this country. It's made-to-order for him. That's why he couldn't wait to get out there, could not wait to get out there." Christian leader Pat Robertson took it a bit further, suggesting that Haitians won their freedom from French imperialism and slavery by making a pact with the devil. Haiti has been "cursed by one thing after another" since they "swore a pact to the devil," he said. "Something happened a long time ago in Haiti and people might not want to talk about," Robertson said. He added: "They were under the heel of the French, you know Napoleon the third and whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said 'We will serve you if you will get us free from the prince.' True story. And so the devil said, 'Ok it's a deal.' And they kicked the French out. The Haitians revolted and got something themselves free. But ever since they have been cursed by one thing after another."
With comments like these, no wonder the United States did not recognize Haiti until 60 years after her independence.

Nobody cared about Haiti and the 1 in 5 birth mortality rate, the extreme poverty and the constant barrage of hurricanes season after season. Hell, they are not even a communist state. Yet nobody cared until now. Yes, what is going on down there is horrible but it was horrible last month as well before the quake. And nobody cared. Now it is fashionable to care. Tiger Woods donated several million dollars. Do you think he would if he didn't get caught screwing everything in sight? It will be interesting to see the country after this is all over. What will the people get? With all the money going in there you could give every man, woman and child $1000. Not a lot huh? But that is a lifetime of wages for the average person, before the quake.

Again people speaking from lack of knowledge. I doubt not a person commenting on this has set foot in Haiti. I have been there and here to tell you that the entire country is @#$%!ed up, they do not even have fire engines to put out fires, proper hospitals to treat all the @#$%!ed up and sick, despite all of the money being given to the country by our government and others, money that we can spend right here in the USA, probably in most of you fools HOODS. Instead of sending a brother to prison, they should send their criminal black asses to Haiti, so they appreciate what they have here. I was there for 6 long miserable months, one thing for sure, I will never, ever go again.
