Snoop Dogg Looking For The High School Dr. Dre - Updated
West coast rapper, Snoop Dogg is giving a high school student his big break as a music producer after the youngster approached the rap superstar in New York and impressed him with his beats. Snoop Dogg was leaving a local Manhattan club called The Eldridge last week when two teens asked him to listen to his tracks they had produced on their MP3 player. Snoop Dogg happily obliged and began freestyling to the beats - Snoop Dogg was so impressed with one of the beats, he's interested in recording it. A source tells the New York Post's Page Six column:
"Snoop puts on the earphones and then started freestyling about the Lower East Side (area of New York). He put on a great show. He ended up liking one of the beats so much that he asked his manager to get one of the kids' email addresses."
WOW! Going from being in a cipher with Snoop Dogg to having him record on one of your tracks! That's real hip hop, sun!
Update:
In a related news story, Snoop Dogg is re-releasing his Malice N Wonderland album as a two-part project, a suite of new music and a pre-packaged movie. Snoop Dogg recently told MTV that the new project will feature new collaborations with Jay-Z and Kid Cudi.
