Nelly Implores Kelly Rowland To Come Back To R & B
No thanks to the likes of Matthew Knowles, Kelly Rowland is a huge success in Europe. Given the demographic makeup of those countries, R&B ballads that Kelly Rowland was known for in her Destiny's Child days aren't very high on her priorities list - that is, they won't pay the rent. So, Kelly is stuck in the middle of a techno-electro-house music style that gets the party jumping, but doesn't really resonate with her American fans. One fan in particular, hip hop star, Nelly recently expressed his disappointment:
“Kelly is now known as a dance act in Europe and I’m really happy for her success,” Nelly explained. “Commander with David Guetta was incredible. She works so hard but over in the States they yearn for the R&B Kelly.
“It’s a double-edged sword. But I understand where she’s coming from,” the Hot In Herre rapper told the Daily Star. “You have to be a versatile artist to survive, you can’t just stick to one genre”
Uhh...our advice to Kelly Rowland: stick to what you're doing, because Nelly's track record these days is nothing to be desired.
