Michael Jordan Replacing Former BET Owner, Bob Johnson, As Charlotte Bobcats Owner
Basketball legend, Michael Jordan, according to the sports rumor mill wants to seal his name in basketball history by doing the one thing that no other basketball legend has been able to accomplish. Making the move from player to owner. Charlotte Bobcats head coach Larry Brown relayed that Jordan told him he is doing everything in his power to buy the team from current owner Bob Johnson (former owner of BET, Bob Johnson, that is). After losing for five years straight both as a team and on the balance books, Bob Johnson is desperate to sell the team and Michael Jordan is equally as eager to snatch it up.
Charlotte coach Larry Brown said Monday night that Jordan has told him he's doing all he can to buy majority control of the Bobcats from owner Bob Johnson. "He said he's doing his best to put himself in a position to get the team," Brown said after practice. "He wants it badly."
It would also be a good play for NBA commissioner stern to keep at least one African-American owner in the NBA - at least for political correctness if not for fairness - and who better than his airness??

I have always thought that it would be only fair that MJ have his very own team . . . even if the NBA had to donate it to him. Since Jordan left the game, there have been some great talent that have arrived; but, they have clearly proved that there will never be a talent as great as MJ. A part of me seem to have died when I could no longer be entertained by the greatest basketball player of all times.
I also believe that the Bob-Cats will be a part of his greatness once he is the sole owner. And if he decide to go beyond his great pride and start a public fund raiser, we the fans will donate all that we can to give back to the greatest entertainer of all times. And if he actually do commence one, I will personally make regular donations until he have the team he so deserve. In truth, the NBA should purchase the Bobcats for him. . .because I do believe they owe him that much. But I really doubt that it will ever be willing to repay him.

Wow! The NBA should GIVE the team to MJ?? I am a person who grew up watching Jordan play, and respect his accomplishments on and off the court..but the team should be GIVEN to him?? Lets be serious here.
First, the NBA is a business. Period. The NBA would not exist if business savvy individuals hadnt created the forum for these players to showcase their talents. The reason that MJ would be a first is because players like MJ simply do not have the capitol to purchase a team. MJ cannot afford to be the sole owner. He desires to be the majority owner. And, if the banks are willing to help him with the financing, he could probably accomplish that. But no one is going to GIVE him anything.

I assure you that if you research the types of people that own professional sports franchises they are not people like MJ. They are the people that own Home Depot (Falcons),Microsoft!! (Seahawks), etc..
MJ works for these people. He is not in the same league. If you research his net worth, even before the divorce, you will see that he simply does not compare to these other guys. And these other guys are who own the NBA. They are not going to GIVE Jordan anything..regardless of race or any other reason. Money talks.
