Crystal Bowersox Roasts American Idol Competition
Singers Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze got inspired on "American Idol," blasting their way into what looks like guaranteed slots in the show's top 10. Here's what the media pundits had to say about the two of them right after their performances:
On Lee Dewyze:
"Lee DeWyze was inspired this week on American Idol and he sang 'The Boxer'. The entire performance really shaped his vocals, but the question is did it bring the song to life. The American Idol contestant really put himself on stage for the fans and the vote tomorrow will be very interesting to say the least.
This week on American Idol, the theme was all about 'Inspirational music'. Having a chance to highlight Idol Gives Back, the contestants got mentored by the lovely and talented Alicia Keys."
On Crystal Bowersox:
"This was the first time Crystal Bowersox didn’t accompany herself through a song. Well, it turns out she doesn’t need it. Her performance of “People Get Ready” was one of the best vocals in the history of the show. Uh-huh! And at the end she even sobbed! (Because her father was in the audience, she said afterward.) Randy gave her a standing ovation. Kara called her “Mama Sox.” Why? Because “you just schooled all those contestants!” Simon concluded: “THAT was inspirational.”
