Can American Idol Survive Without Simon Cowell? (Update)
 American Idol's acerbic judge Simon Cowell recently announced that he
will not return to the reality show after this the ninth season. Most
viewers can not imagine American Idol without its most brutally honest
judge. So can he be replaced? According to Kevin Reilly, president of
Fox President:
"We are not going to replace him, but we are going to look for
somebody that has a lot of credibility and charisma, because first and
foremost, we need somebody who really knows what they’re doing. And I
will tell you this: The level of talent that has expressed an interest
in the show, starting with Ellen [DeGeneres], is pretty astounding."
Yeah, we like Ellen too, but she is not Simon. Simon is great for American Idol because if nothing else, we love to hate him.
