Martin Sheen - Martin Sheen Says Charlie Sheen Is Emotionally Crippled
 Martin Sheen - Actor Martin Sheen sympathizes with his son Charlie Sheen over the actors litany of bizarre public tirades. Martin Sheen says this of his son's experience,
“I know what hell he’s living in. I’ve had psychotic episodes in public. One of them was on camera – the opening scene of Apocalypse Now. So I know what Charlie is going through. When you do something like that, that is out of control, that’s the most difficult thing. You have to have courage… You know, Charlie’s 45 years old. He’s not a kid. Emotionally he still is. Because when you’re addicted, you don’t grow emotional. So when you get clean and sober, you’re starting at the moment you started using drugs or alcohol. You’re emotionally crippled.”

Mr. Sheen is right. Charlie is emotionally stunted. I've been sober in AA for 33 years and I know what growing pains feel like at the age of 31 when I came in to the Program. It is painfully simple - does Charlie want to stop the pain or not? We're here to help if he is. It is a very lonely disease but it does not have to end that way...

regardless of Charlie's age. He is totally out of control, and it going to hurt himself or someone else. But so far Martin and the rest of the sheen family have done zero. To help charlie.
its time for some tough love. Charlie may not understand it from the start and be angry, but in the end he will be so happy, they did.
