Kelly Rowland Blames The Cosby Show For Wanting A Perfect Family
 Kelly Rowland wanted her life to mirror the Cosby Show. She wanted to be daddy's little girl and have a great relationship with her mother. Except, her real life was anything but. Kelly hasn't seen her father in nearly 20 years. He has since tried to reach out but a meeting has yet to take place. Kelly Rowland grew up with Beyonce and their "perfect" family after her biological mother gave up guardianship to Matthew Knowles.
In the November issue of Cosmopolitan, Kelly opens up about her not so perfect family.
On her dad:
"He reached out to me saying he wanted to see me, but it's unfortunate he did it so publicly. I want to meet him, and soon, I really do. I forgave him a long time ago."
"He left me and my mom, and I was angry. I wanted to be a daddy's girl so bad. God damn The Cosby Show because that made me think, 'Why aren't my family like that?' But this is not a perfect world."
On her mom:
"Me and my mom didn't see eye to eye for a while," she explained. "I would see how close my girlfriends were to their mothers and it bothered me. I haven't seen my dad for almost 20 years. It's nothing I want a pity party for.
Despite it all, Kelly has blossomed into a successful, beautiful woman.
