George Lopez Jokes 'Lopez Tonight' Was Canceled Over His Brown Skin
Comedian George Lopez joked with his audience that his late night show "Lopez Tonight" was canceled because of his brown skin. By the end of this week, Lopez Tonight will be no more. After the show moved to the midnight time slot to accommodate Conan O'Brien, Lopez experienced a 40% drop from the second season to date as compared with his first season. A Turner executive stated that Lopez was a cost consideration, "It just wasn't doing what I needed it to be doing to justify the investment," he said.
While Lopez speculates his brown skin came into play, others are adding that Conan was the real reason. Conan's show was meant to serve as a lead-into Lopez Tonight, assuming he would average more viewers - however Conan's numbers have steadily declined therefore leaving less people to watch Lopez.
George Lopez took it all in strides when he told his audience,
"Settle down, settle down. I only have until tomorrow night. So today I lost some work because I’m brown. But I also got some work because I’m blue.” Referencing his role in the movie Smurfs.All jokes aside, did Conan O'Brien inadvertently do to George Lopez what Jay Leno did to him?

I know that George has people supporting him including myself. His show was one of a kind.
Jay Leno's show, 2 Broke Girls, and other shows will never be as good as Lopez Tonight.
