Dame Dash Wants To Avoid Beef With Jay Z & Beanie Sigel

Dame Dash has suddenly become a chef - when it comes to beef he don't wanna do nothin' but cook! MTV caught up with the ex-mogul and had Dame Dash weigh in on the Jay Z vs. Beanie Sigel drama. Here's what he had to say:
“I love Jay, I love Beans — what’s the reason for beef?” “That’s stupid. What’s the reason for beef? People die, people don’t feel good — I want people to laugh. I was surprised. I was hurt for him, more or less, because I know that ain’t him. But I don’t want to speak on that. Whatever [Beanie's] going through where he’s got to do that … I could understand where he may look at things and feel that way. I can see that. He’s probably got a lot of people around him and nobody to really tell him what’s going on. It was a different environment for Roc-A-Fella back then. I feel bad for those cats. I love those cats. I hate that they struggle. I hate it. I hate to see anybody struggle. I don’t embrace that. I’m not one of those dudes that get happy when I hear something bad about somebody I had a bond with. I really loved those dudes.”
Hmmm... with Cam'ron AWOL, Jim Jones making party records and the rest of dipset irrelevant, Dame Dash wouldn't have a dog in the fight. Good move Dame! Let's see how this plays out!!

Russell Simmons Defends The Youth From Bill Cosby

Russell Simmons is defending Generation X or the "poets" as he calls them in an open letter on Global Grind from the likes of Bill Cosby {the older generation}. Here's a snippet of what Russell had to say,
Bill Cosby is an example of someone from the older generation who has consistently blamed the poets and asked suffering community members to bare the full burden of guilt for the struggles that they endure. It is certainly not that he and the rest of the elders don't care, because they do. In fact, their intentions are pure and good. All the things they say are actually true. What they don’t understand is that the young people who they criticize did not create their own realities. They did not create the crumbling education system that we school them in. They did not create the drug epidemic and drug wars that have resulted in a dysfunctional family structure. They did not create the health care crisis that does not treat them. They did not create the culture of violence that they fall victim to.
Cosby has definitely received some flack and praises for his direct criticism on this generation. what's your take?

Sit down somewhere and calm it down. You forget who made you girl!”

Mo'Nique Says She Can Relate To Her 'Precious' Character Because Of Her Sexual Abuse History
Mo'Nique is known for being a light-hearted comedienne, however, her new role as a psychotic mother who abuses her daughter turns that happy-go-lucky streak on its head. Mo'Nique recently told Ellen about her sexual abuse that allowed her to play that role:
"You know, I do know Mary Jones and its a story that I've told, and I was molested as a kid, by my oldest brother Gerald, so when Lee Daniels called me and told me about this movie, when I say action to you I need you to be a monster so I remembered those moments with my brother Gerald because he was a monster to me. and when he said action, I became a monster. In all fairness, and I haven't spoken to my brother in years, it allowed me not to hate him... because Mary Jones is mentally ill, it's a sickness, it's a illness, and even though she was very cruel and she was evil and mean when you really got to listen to this women, you saw that she was mentally ill and often times we throw it away... and to show mental illness like that and not in an institution and not in a straight jacket. That movie really allowed me to say no judgement because you really don't understand people's situation and circumstances."
That old saying about not judging a book by it's cover is so true, ain't it?
