Oprah Reveals Breast Cancer Scare
Oprah is not entirely untouchable it seems, both in her personal life and as a businesswoman. While at O Magazine’s annual conference last month in Los Angeles the media mogul told a crowd of over 5,000 fans that she had overcome a breast cancer scare just a week before, having been told by doctors that it was just a false alarm. O Magazine has seen a 22 percent decline in sales since Winfrey ended her talk show 18 months ago, much in line with the 25 percent decline her staff told her to expect. With a smaller platform on her OWN cable channel, and print media experiencing a downturn, Oprah has come to terms with the possibility of the ending the publication.
“Ultimately, you have to make money because you are a business,” she told the New York Times during the conference. “I let other people worry about that. I worry about the message. I am always, always, always about holding true to the vision and the message, and when you are true to that, then people respond.”

Alicia Keys To Honor Oprah Winfrey
Alicia Keys announced on Tuesday that her charity Keep a Child Alive will honor media mogul and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey at its annual Black Ball event on November 1st. According to the report released by AP, Keys stated Oprah is “a personal inspiration to me because her philanthropic work truly comes from the heart.”
Alicia’s organization was founded in 2003 to battle the widespread impact of HIV/AIDs in African and India. The Black Ball will be a “special tribute to the empowerment of women — the heartbeat, soul, and backbone of the AIDS movement.”

Kim Kardashian Gets Honest With Oprah
Kim Kardashian told media mogul Oprah Winfrey that her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries was not an act to boost ratings. Kim K used the first part of a two-part interview with Winfrey to reiterate to fans that she entered the ill-fated marriage with the best of intentions.
“I was in love: I wanted the life that I always pictured my fairytale life to be,” said Kardashian. “We have an amazing fan base. We don’t do anything for ratings.”
On Oprah’s Next Chapter, Kim Kardashian explained to the queen of media that everything was great in the beginning of her relationship with NBA forward Kris Humphries. But once the two love birds decided to move in together, the happy nest fell apart. “I don’t want to get into the small things,” said Kardashian, “but once we moved in, I knew he was not the one… I didn’t spend more than a whole week with my ex before we married.” The curvaceous television personality made sure to conceal Humphries’ name in the interview.
“I will always have a place in my heart for him,” she admitted to Winfrey, but was adamant about the professional athlete not being the one for her. Despite their differences, she insisted that the New Jersey Net hooper is a good person.
Kardashian had no idea that her marriage would fail, but every one else around her questioned her decision the night before the wedding. “Do you want out? You’re not yourself,” her mother said on the wedding’s eve. Boredom in the bedroom may have attributed to the couple’s break up but Kim K stresses that there were other reasons why the romance ended.
Kardashian also told Winfrey that she suffered from emotional distress due to the media’s verbal attacks on her and her short-lived marriage. With so many onlookers believing the hitch was a fake, her quickie marriage became a punchline for pop culture. The star was constantly bashed, damaging her brand. Kim K was no longer as “real” as her reality television show depicted, sending her into a whirlwind of depression.

 50 Cent finally sat down with Oprah Winfrey to clear the air on their feud and differences on hip hop culture. Check out excerpts from 50 Cent's visit on Oprah's Next Chapter.
“I would see moments when you would discuss your feelings on the culture and everything that was wrong with the culture was what was on my CD, and I was like, ‘Oh, she doesn’t like me’, revealed 50 about his dislike for Oprah.
“I was saying, ‘If I can’t be your friend, at least let me be your enemy, so I co-exist.’”
Oprah responded, “That’s interesting… I don’t spend a lot of time looking at people who don’t like me, but I did hear that you said something like… ‘I had white women in my audience that were as old as your grandmother…’ I felt that that was a pointed criticism.”
On the use of the N-Word the rapper said,
“When you’re actually using it with malice in your heart, you can feel the difference… If it’s being used by someone that you know isn’t using it in a racial term, it doesn’t impact the same… I just think you’re identifying with how it originated and it should exist based on that (alone).”

 An unlikely duo, Oprah Winfrey decided it was time to clear the air with rapper 50 Cent after his disparaging remarks against her in 2006. For the first time 50 Cent will sit across from Oprah for an upcoming episode of ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’. After completing the interview, Oprah shared with her Facebook readers the top five things she learned about 50 Cent.
In the car having just left Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent. Gotta say, he was quite surprising. We talked for 2 hrs. You’ll see Part 1 this Sunday. Here are 5 things I learned from Fiddy:
1. He meditates regularly.
2. Received his mantra from Deepak Chopra, whose book he’s currently reading.
3. He was not allowed to use curse words in his grandmother’s house and still follows that rule.

Whitney Houston's Sister In Law Defends Bobby Brown To Oprah
 The highly anticipated interview with Bobbi Kristina Brown, Gary Houston and Patricia Houston with Oprah Winfrey will surprise many as Patricia defends Bobby Brown. Whitney's sister in law insisted that Brown has received unfair criticism over the years.
“I can’t say that he introduced drugs to her; I don’t think that’s true," she tells Oprah. Bobby and I had a good relationship. She (Whitney) would say, ‘You’re always trying to protect him.’ I said, ‘No, I’m protecting truth… I can’t do it any other way.’”
Patricia also added, “There was always so much outside interference… It was very hard. Their reality was everyone else’s, and it’s very difficult if you’ve got family members that are demanding certain things from you, then the world demanding certain things from you. In all of that congestion, how can you make it work?”
This will certainly shock more than a few people/fans especially since recent reports that Bobbi Kristina Brown wants a name change.

Oprah Winfrey Sued Over Inspirational Phrase
 Ever wonder where Oprah Winfrey gets her many inspirational phrases from? According to Own Your Power Communications, Inc. Oprah stole their "Own Your Power" phrase and the concept of believing that “anything you want in life is attainable” will help you live you best life. (Who knew someone could claim such a theory?!?!)
The company filed the suit on Thursday and is seeking damages to reverse the injury caused by Oprah’s “brazenly unlawful disregard for the existence and use of [OTP's] trademark.”
Oprah's reps told Entertainment Weekly, "Harpo has not been served and we have no information about what allegations are being made.”
Guess talking it out is not an option...

Oprah has appeared to have downgraded in an attempt to revamp her failing OWN network. Though from the picture of Oprah in the very, very modest office, she appears happy! Oprah fired Christina Norman, the former President of MTV, after failing to make an major dents in the crowded media space. After ending her talk show, many wondered what Oprah would do next. Reviving her OWN Network appears to be high on the list:

Academy President Denies Oprah Will Host Oscars
Oprah Winfrey is reportedly not in talks to host the Oscars according to it's President Tom Sherak. Sherak tells the Hollywood Reporter,
"It's not true, and I don't know where that story even came from."
"You have to remember how it works," Sherak explained of the hiring process. "First, I have to hire a producer, and then the producer comes to the Academy with suggestions for the host. So how could we have a host without a producer?"
Sherak added, "The camera loves Oprah. Oprah's a genius."
So what this really means is that someone in Oprah's camp or someone who really wants to see Oprah host the Oscars devised a plot to put Oprah's name in the suggestion box..after that point...who could deny Oprah??

Oprah Secures Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith As Final Guests
 Oprah is winding down to the last week of her successful daytime talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show. Since the last show date was revealed as May 25th, many have speculated who will close out Oprah's last show. It has been revealed by The Daily that Oprah will play host to Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith - and others.
The Smiths are enjoying a great year with both their children enjoying unprecedented success for their age group. Jaden Smith reportedly made nearly $2 million for his role in "Karate Kid" and daughter Willow Smith was on tour with teen sensation Justin Bieber. Not to mention both children have hawked their respective projects on Oprah numerous of times.
Writer James Frey will also return to battle it out with Oprah over a two-episode stint.

Woman Ditching Jury Duty For Oprah Winfrey Show
 Oprah Winfrey's name certainly carries weight from pushing brands, selling books, music and movies but who would have thought Oprah was a valid jury duty excuse? According to the Chicago Sun-Times a potential juror in the retrial of Rod Blagojevich's says her Oprah show tickets for a May 10th taping is more important.
The U.S. District Judge James Zagel considered pushing the case to accommodate Oprah's taping date but conceded it "seems a little over the top."
The juror did have the U.S Attorney in her corner who said,
"It's the last year, judge."
The Sun-Times reported at the end the judge seemed to lean in the jurors favor and the parties agreed to "revisit the issue".
The juror who has four tickets for the taping is still holding on to hope.
The last taping of the Oprah Winfrey show is scheduled for May 25th.

 Michael Vick - Philadelphia star quarterback Michael Vick will make his first prime time appearance in recent years on Oprah or CNN's Piers Morgan.
According to Yahoo sports, Oprah Winfrey and Piers Morgan wagered about $320 for who would book Michael Vick first. Oprah announced just earlier this week that she booked Michael Vick for February 24th. In the midst of it all however, Vick's rep reportedly contact Oprah and Piers to abandoned their wager.
"Here's what happened: I bet Oprah 200 pounds for this interview, and then a mysterious thing happened at the end of last week, where Michael Vick's agent rang us both up and said, 'He can't be party to gambling so he'll only do an interview with either of you if you withdraw the bet.' At which point, Oprah, quick as lightning, gets straight on Twitter and says, 'Dear Piers, I'm withdrawing the bet, I don't know why I let you talk me into it, I still love you, Oprah.'
"The moment I saw that, I knew what that meant was, if she did that on Twitter, she was in the clear and she had him in the bag! You shouldn't pick a fight with Oprah Winfrey, right?"

Oprah To Provide "Mindful TV" in OWN Network Gamble
Oprah Winfrey is taking perhaps the biggest gamble in her life and launching a cable TV network this weekend? Why would the TV tycoon take such a big risk? Because she believes people are hungry for shows that entertain, inspire and offer what she calls "mindful television."
"What I want to do is build a channel that is a respite for your mind, an oasis of stimulation that you come away from with little pieces of light.
"I'm aiming for a moment where somebody could say, 'I never thought of it that way before.' I just love that," Winfrey 56, told Parade magazine in an interview this week.

Media queen, Oprah and the mother of the King of Pop, Katherine Jackson recently recorded an open-heart session, where mama Katherine was able to get a lot off her chest, including a diatribe against the recording arm of Sony. Currently, the Jackson family is in the midst of a dispute with Michael Jackson's estate which signed a $250 million deal with Sony to release Michael Jackson's posthumous album. Kanye West Cancels Interview With Oprah Via Email
Kanye West may still be up to his bizarre behavior. While most celebrities would see an Oprah show interview as a golden opportunity, The touched rapper apparently thought the Oprah show is something to snub at. In Touch magazine reports that HARPO producers made arrangements for Kanye West to perform at a rooftop location while Oprah Winfrey herself “was going to ask Kanye everything” in the interview segment. Then, with absolutely no explanation, Kanye West supposedly canceled via email. An insider close to Opra says that “Oprah is not happy” over the cancellation because “all the arrangements had been made.”
Kanye West has not mentioned anything about snubbing the Oprah show even though he rants about everything else. Maybe now he is listening to Jay-Z and is keeping his mouth shut.

Rosie O'Donnell has decided to return to daytime TV thanks to Oprah Winfrey. Rosie O'Donnell will present a daily hour-long show from New York on Winfrey's new cable network, OWN, which is set to launch in January. A statement released by Winfrey reads: "Rosie is an undeniable talent who has captivated TV audiences for nearly 20 years. She's a true original, who brings her authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does."
From 1996 to 2002, O’Donnell hosted a syndicated series, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, winning six Emmy Awards.

Thompson who has acquired the rights to the book Oprah: A Biography. John Tesh, according to a new tell-all book written by insider Kitty Kelley, once had a romantic relationship with Oprah. Biographer Kitty Kelley has dredged up some juicy gossipy nuggets for her new book about talk show host Oprah Winfrey and the best parts on romance speak about a possible relationship with John Tesh. The unauthorized biography alleges that Oprah and the former "Entertainment Tonight" host/singer hooked up as lovers while sharing an apartment back in the day -- in the 1970s while each was working a television job in Nashville, Tennessee. Talk show host and all-around media mogul, Oprah Winfrey is currently under fire in South Africa from a head mistress who wants Oprah to pay up for defaming her character during the investigation of an abuse scandal at Oprah Winfrey's school in South Africa. Oprah Play Mediator Between Leno and Letterman
 Oprah played somewhat of a mediator to Jay Leno &
David Letterman last night as she shared the couch with the two
battling late night hosts. According to reports, the production for the
Oprah, Leno & Letterman ad was done in secrete.
CBS offered “Late Show” a slot for a promo to air during the Super
Bowl. “Dave had this idea, ‘What about getting Jay and Oprah together
with me?’ and he wrote it,” Burnett explained. “We said, ’This is too
funny to pass up.’ First we called Oprah.” Then Leno was approached,
and he, too, signed on.
Maybe Oprah can get 50 cent and Jay-Z to come together and create one album...that would be just as entertaining!

Oprah Winfrey Publicly Apologizes To Robin Givens About Her Mike Tyson Interview.
 Media giant Oprah Winfrey has publicly apologized to Robin Givens for showing some compassion to Mike Tyson. Givens now the spokesperson for the National Domestic Violence Hotline wrote a letter to Oprah on her distate for allowing Mike to recall the experience FROM HIS POIT OF VIEW and even drawing laughter from the crowd. Givens must have forgetten when she had a chance to tell the world her story and Tyson sat next to her silent like a well behaved child.
And of course Givens managed to land herself on Oprah to tell her side of sorrow and being in "disbelief" when the audience laughed when Tyson said he wanted to "sock her".
Here's a snippet of her conversation with Oprah:
"I wouldn't be honest if there wasn't a part of me that wanted you to go, when he said, 'Oh, I've socked her before...' 'That's not right.' And it wasn't right, it was painful.
"He can say whatever about me... but there are so many women like me, in my situation, that I just feel when there is this laughter, if you are in that situation out there, it kind of lightens it."
Oprah responded by insisting her studio audience laughed because "they were uncomfortable" and because Tyson used the word "sock". She also told Givens, "I don't think that they were laughing at you, I think they were laughing at the term."
She then offered her guest a personal apology, stating, "In that moment, I will tell you, I felt that I should have said something. I felt that I should have said, 'Audience, that isn't funny...' so I regret it.
"I would say to you and every woman, who has ever been hit, I feel that I did not handle that as well as I should have and I feel that I could have gone further and should have said more to clarify that what he was doing and what he was saying was wrong.
"So I apologise to you and I apologise to every woman who has ever been in that situation."
A relieved Givens said, "Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Damn homie, where's the compassion and forgiveness?? Can the man get over his past and move on? Why must he be persecuted at every turn for an error he has recognized and moved beyond. Oprah Finally Bans BeBe Winans aka Grown Up Chris Brown
"Winans appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” last week and was seen in promos for future appearances. Now he’ll be cut out of the segment, said Winfrey spokesman Don Halcombe on Thursday. Winfrey was criticized by some bloggers this week for including Winans after she had taken a strong stand against domestic violence earlier this year. She did a show on the topic when singer Chris Brown assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna. The daytime TV leader said at the time: “Domestic violence is something that I wouldn’t tolerate. Period.”
Halcombe would only say that the decision to eliminate Winans was made this week. It was not clear if Winfrey had been aware that Winans was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault in the Feb. 13 incident, where Winans and his ex-wife Debra were allegedly arguing about their children. Winans has a court date set for Jan. 20."
By the looks in that picture, Oprah might have had some ulterior motives for letting Bebe on that show.... MOVE OVER Steadman!

Folks Stage a KFC Sit-In When Denied Their Free Chicken
 The title alone should have you rolling on the floor and as if this backlash wasn't expected when Tuesday Oprah announced she was "hooking America up" with free grilled chicken. People always go nuts for anything free, even crazier when it's chicken. One source shared their experience,
"I went over to our nearest KFC a few minutes ago ... and chaos ensued," the e-mail read. "Despite the very visible grilled chicken behind the register, the manager told everyone with coupons to leave and that the promotion was over for the day. The people there are currently holding a sit-in and refusing to leave until they get their free chicken. ... There were 911 calls. Racial epithets were being spewed, people who actually wanted to pay for chicken were facing a potential beat-down, and the manager ran from the screaming horde.
The experience of simply downloading the coupon proved to be just as frustrating as actually getting the free meal, as heavy Web traffic kept users from accessing both the site, as well as the software needed to download the actual coupon."
Next time anyone does a promotion in conjuction with media goddess Oprah, have your stuff in place and a riot squad.

 While watching this, I was totally waiting for Oprah to say "Sike, April fools, you've been punked" or something that would let me know this was not serious.
Oprah announced that she and KFC are giving away chicken for the next 24hrs.
Great marketing campaign, but it is also the worst racist joke ever in waiting. I'll let you tell the joke but You have to see the video.

Oprah’s Girls Can’t Keep Their Hands To Themselves
 Oprah is facing another sex scandal from her elite all-girl boarding school in South Africa (something feels dirty about writing that). Less than 2 years after a head master was expelled for indecent assault and soliciting a minor to perform indecent acts, seven students have now been expelled for similar behavior.
A letter sent home to one of the parents said,
"You have been found guilty of physical contact of a sexual nature with another pupil on campus, harassment, bullying other girls on campus and of being dishonest by not telling investigators the whole truth."
Damn, Oprah may need to implement a “Boys Night” at this school. This begs the question though, is it really better to teach boys and girls separately or is this an isolated situation?

Queen Latifah Sued For Looking Pretty
 Queen Latifah is paying the price to be pretty! The Queen is being sued for approximately $1million dollars by her make-up artist and stylist separately. The make-up charged that Latifah owes her $700,000 for work provided between July 2005 and February 2008 while the stylist claims Latifah owes her $300,000 over the same time period.
Since when does it take nearly 3 years to realize someone is defaulting on a debt? Maybe Latifah kept saying she’s “good for it”?! I’m thinking going into 2006 and you still haven’t seen payment, you would stop working right? *Something sounds fishy here*

Gospel Singer BeBe Winans Arrested for Domestic Abuse
 Another day, another one bites the dust. Gospel singer BeBe Winans was arrested for allegedly pushing his ex-wife to the ground during an argument last month. Reportedly BeBe was at his ex-wife’s home to pick up his children when he got into a “verbal altercation” pertaining to custody issues (never a fun topic), he got irate and pushed her to the ground.
This happened approximately one month ago, I guess the wife mustered up the will to report the abuse since this has week has become a default “women against abuse” week. Good for her – I guess. I wonder what Oprah has to say about this?

Will.i.am "It's A New Day" Video to debut on Oprah today
According to the AP, A new will.i.am video celebrating Barack Obama's win has been delayed, and now will be debuted on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Friday. The Black Eyed Peas leader had said "It's A New Day" would debut on dipdive.com Wednesday, the day after Obama was elected. Will.i.am's publicist now says the Chicago-based show will debut the clip, with other celebrities on hand.
Dipdive.com will then post it later in the day.
