Chris Brown, Drake Sued For Nightclub Brawl
After living for months primarily in the world of gossip columns and
Internet innuendo, the infamous club brawl between Drake and Chris Brown
will now spend much of its days in the realm of attorneys, judges and
courtrooms.
Drake and Brown were sued for $16 million by a company with links to
the club where the brawl took place. The suit blames the artists for the
brawl and claims they are liable for what happened because they did
nothing to stop it. The suit alleges that the brawl sullied the club’s
name and harmed future business.
The suit, filed by Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., said Drake and
Brown were at fault for their part in the brawl “in circumvention of the
venue’s extensive security measures.”
While no criminal charges were ever filed, the fight at W.i.P. club
caused injuries to Brown and NBA star Tony Parker, who required eye
surgery and had to wear special goggles when he played for France in the
London Olympics. Parker subsequently sued the club for $20 million for
allowing a brawl that almost ended his career. According to police, the
craziness started after members of Drake’s entourage confronted Brown on
the dance floor as he was leaving the club’s basement lounge. Drake’s
representatives have said he was on his way out and didn’t injure
anyone. Read the rest here.

Drake Mentions Chris Brown Incident At Concert
Drake chose to address the crowd at his concert at Jones Beach Theater in New York City last night since releasing a statement through his lawyer earlier this week about the Chris Brown fight. Drake who was the headliner came on after Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, French Montana, and J. Cole and said this to the crowd,
“You were having a good night so far, you done had a couple drinks, you done met a couple thangs, and then the ni**a in the corner start looking at you funny and you feel a motherfu**in’ way about it. And then somebody going to the bathroom bumps you with their elbow and you like, ‘What the f**k?’ At that time in my life, there’s really only one ni**a that I wanna hear,” said the Young Money rapper, before Waka Flocka joined him for “Round of Applause.”

Chris Brown And Drake Speak Out Over Club Brawl
Chris Brown suffers a nasty gash on his chin, his bodyguard Big Pat is hospitalized with a bloody head injury and a bystander is injured. Such is the aftermath of the brawl that took place at WIP nightclub in New York City last night between Drake, Chris Brown and Meek Mill’s entourage. Drake was the first to release a statement since accusations began flying that he throw a bottle at Chris Brown,
“Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began,” his rep told TMZ.
Adding, “[Drake] did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”
Soon after Chris released a statement through his reps to GossipCop, “Chris, [girlfriend] Karrueche [Tran] and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at WIP,” his rep told GossipCop.com. “They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further.”
That only leaves Meek Mill to release a statement. In the interim Chris tweeted that there’s no beef between the two, “Me and Meek Mill ain’t on that bullshit. Real respect real…”

Drake And Tyra On A Date?
Drake and Tyra Banks were spotted out together recently at Disneyland. Prior to heading out for their 'date' Drake made a bad impression on one of Tyra's employees.
Thanks to my coworker & I Drake and Tyra got hooked up with Yogurtland tonight
He didn’t deserve it though
I told Tyra she was pretty & she said thanks & my co worker told drake he was cute & he didn’t say anything just turned his head. He got all butt because I took a pic too.
He told me to stop. Hahah Oh please do so! He’s not even cute!
He was being a douche. I heard they were dating
I’m disappointed. Bad first impression you know. Wasn’t not what was expected.
Hmm...is Trya pulling a J-Lo?

Rapper Drake was in London to attend Model Night Out at the Funky Buddha Club in Mayfair. Before entering the club it appeared a scuffle took place with Drake's entourage and the club's security.

Another added, 'Drake touched at Funky Buddha, and I swear the crowd filled up with chicks in minutes. No lie.'
Minutes later Drake and his crew entered the club.

Drake Forced To Use Drugs To Cope With Fame?
Drake is a man of control. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Drake revealed dabbling in recreational drug use to relive himself from the burden of fame.
“Have I sipped codeine before? Yeah, of course. Have I smoked weed? Yes. Do I drink wine? Yes. But do I do it excessively? No. I’m not a reckless guy. I do it all within moderation. I’m not into drugs.” He realizes what he has just said, and bursts out laughing, as do his crew. “I mean any outside the ones I just mentioned. Nah, that’s not me. I care too much about what I have. I’m not going to throw it away for that.”
With influences like Lil Wayne whose use of codeine is beyond moderation, it's hard to tell how long Drake will maintain control. The rapper makes a case for his vices,
"You get artists who go crazy and don't know how to handle it. There are people who have killed themselves. There's the overwhelming stress, how tired you are, the weight on your shoulders of going out and giving 18,000 people entertainment ... It's a lot of pressure."
Perhaps Drake has figured out a formula that works for him but he's definitely playing with fire.

Drake Sued For Smoking Weed At Private Party
Drake is being sued by a club owner who was cited for marijuana use. According to the club owner of Dollhouse Lounge in Oklahoma City, Drake requested the nightclub for one night on Thursday March 1st for a private party. Drake arrived with an entourage of people that continued to grow over the course of the evening. According to the letter sent by the club owner to Drake's manager obtained by TMZ, there was a heavy scent of marijuana coming from Drake's VIP section.
The party was reportedly shut down soon after but not before cops showed up and arrested the club manager. The club owner now wants Drake to pay thousands of dollars for his trouble.
Doesn't that liability come with the territory?

Drake Admits Sharing Women With Lil Wayne
Rapper Drake happily admitted to accepting his label boss Lil Wayne's sloppy seconds. Now that Drizzy is big man around campus he isn't embarrassed to reveal his past transgressions. In an impromptu freestyle rap for GQ magazine he stated,
"Diamonds hang around my neck, the crib is all finished/No love for these *****es I said this year it’s all business/ It is a shame that a couple of ‘em are off limits/ No offence to my n***a, It’s just the industry’s small, we all lust for the same women," Drizzy spits.
"You know the ones we saw before we came in it, I know we aint tripping. I know I got a couple things that Lil Wayne dipped in, ain’t ashamed to admit it."
Interesting.

Drake Files Response To 'Marvin's Room' Lawsuit By Ericka Lee
Drake is pretty certain Ericka Lee agreed to receiving zero payment for lending her voice on 'Marvin's Room'. Last month through her lawyer Ericka stated she had a romantic relationship with Drake and she helped him co-write the popular track.
Drake once again denied having a relationship with Ericka and reaffirmed through his court filing last week that there was no agreement for payment.
"This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct. Ericka Lee consented to the use of her voice in the song."
Hmm..maybe Drake should just break her off something.

Drake Turns Metro While Talking Orgasms On The Cover Of GQ
Drake left his Cosby sweater at home and opted for a sleek blue suit for the cover of GQ magazine's special issue. Aubry invited writer Claire Hoffman to his mansion where he treated her to an outdoor showing of Sixteen Candles, wine spritzer (his favorite drink....not surprised), a ride down his water slide that leads to statues of naked women and dinner by the pool. Later Claire asks to see Drake's closet. Get this..his bedroom is hidden behind a bookshelf with a security code for entry! Soon after he boldly asks, "We had wine and dinner by the pool, I brought you inside, I brought the projector down; are you or are you not sleeping with me?"
Luckily Clair wasn't offended. Check out excerpts from the interview below:
On the new generation of rappers that's moving from aggression and street credibility..“Rap now is just being young an fly and having your sh*t together. The mood of rap has changed.”
On finding influences for his songwriting... “I’m trying to find the same feelings that I had for women when I had very little going on, which is tough. When I was in my mom’s house, I had nowhere to go, no real obligations. My girlfriend at the time, if she was mad at me, my day was all f*cked-up. I didn’t have anything else. And that made for some of the best music, I think, to date. Records where I felt small. ...It’s really difficult for me to find something that makes me feel small.”
On past promiscuity... “There’s just a time where it was like, just getting p*ssy. Where I was in that sort of ‘I’m young, I’m going to disconnect from my emotions and just do what everyone else tells me I should do and just a be a rapper and have my fun.’ And for me as a person, it just doesn’t work. The seconds after a man reaches climax, that’s the realest moment of your life. If I don’t want you next to me in that fifteen, twenty seconds, then there’s something wrong.”
On his bad boy persona... "I've never been reckless—it's always calculated. I’m mischievous, but I’m calculated.”

Drake Sparks Twitter Feud With Ex Girlfriend?
Rapper Drake may have sparked a twitter beef with one of his ex girlfriends, stripper Maliah Michel. Last night Drake tweeted,
"Sometimes I wanna tweet things like "Bitch how you stop fuckin with me and now you live on twitter everyday"...but then I just don't."
After doing what he said he wouldn't and despite not mentioning any names Maliah felt obligate to respond.
"Lmao Yess I love twitter and I don't f**k with disrespectful crybaby ass niggas that's y"
Don't see the correlation though but wouldn't a simple phone call have been better?

Ja Rule Speaks On Kanye West And Drake Singing In Hip Hop
Ja Rule is no stranger to singing his way through a rap song so it's no surprise that he fully supports Kanye West and Drake doing the same. Common may politely disagree on that point.
"I mean, I love it. I love to hear the melodies in the records. Music is music," said Ja who's currently serving time for tax evasion and weapons charges. "I think people get that twisted. ‘Ah this is Hip Hop’ or ‘This is rock’ or ‘This is R&B.’ Hip Hop is the only form of music that can mess with all of those sounds and make for good music."
"So when I hear it in the music, I smile. I love to hear it, I love to listen to Drake, I love Kanye - all of these artists who make good music, because that’s what it’s all about. It’s not about putting on a break beat and rhyming over it."
"That’s where it started, but things elevate, things change. I think I kind of was in that zone. I wouldn’t say I was ahead of my time, because I sold plenty of records doing that," he added.

Drake Doesn't Take Ludacris 'That Seriously'
Drake hasn't built his successful, still relatively new career as a battle rapper - so it's not surprising that his first instinct isn't to pounce on every rapper that throws a diss his way. In the February/March issue of Vibe Drake address a few of these beefs. Atlanta rapper Future called out Drake for not appearing in his video for "Tony Montana" despite dropping a verse. He called the diss a "slap in the face." Drake's response,
“I’ve got no issues with [Future]. I’m happy I got on the song.”
Next beef up was Pusha T's track 'Don't F*ck With Me' where he raps “The talk don’t match the leather/The swag don’t match the sweaters.”
Drake's response, “I’ve been really open about my love for the Clipse. I don’t know, maybe that guy is bored.”
Lastly, Drake and Big Sean found themselves on the receiving end of Ludacris' wrath when they accused him of stealing their style of flow. Luda proceeded to release 'Badaboom' to answer back.
Drake's response,
"[Ludacris,] that’s a case of someone trying to use my marketing money to get things going again for themselves. That didn’t affect my day, my month, my year. I didn’t take any of that seriously."

DMX Has No Love For Rick Ross Or Drake
Drake is no friend of DMX. When X dropped in on the Breakfast Club earlier today he had a few things to say about Drake and a few other emcees. During his nearly half and hour interview X was asked which rappers he thinks is nice...J. Cole. That's the only rapper that received a straight yes, "he's nice". DMX was hesitant about Lil Wayne only saying they cool peoples. But there was no mercy on Wayne's prodigy Drake,
"I don't like anything about Drake. I don't like his voice. I don't like anything he talks about. I don't his face. I don't like the way he walks, nothing. I don't like his haircut. Nothing. Let me shut up though."
Rick Ross also got his share of criticism,
"I'm just not impressed. He's aight, man. He talks about eating and girlfriends too much. How much can a nigga eat? How much weed can you smoke? Let's talk about something else...I see a whole 'nother side of the coin, son."

Drake Brakes His Silence On Ericka Lee 'Marvin's Room'Lawsuit
Drake is biting back against his alleged ex-girlfriend who says he owes her big for co-writing 'Marvin's Room'. According to Lee and her lawyer, she once had a romantic relationship with Aubry and she helped him co-write the popular track, she was also the voice on the phone.
Drake responded through his lawyer stating,
"This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct. Ericka Lee consented to the use of her voice in the song "Marvin's Room" prior to its release. Lee asked only for the credit she received as "Syren Lyric Muse," and she did not ask for any compensation. It was only after she retained a lawyer that there was a demand for payment. Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court."
According to Ericka when she began calling for money Drake offered her $50k plus 4-5% of publishing monies. Lee declined the deal. We're guessing her lawyer believes there's more money to get.

Drake Apologizes For Vanessa Bryant Diss On 'Stay Schemin'
Drake and Common's beef that wasn't really a beef is now over for good. Common has said his peace and now Drake in an interview with Nah Right is squashing it for good. To wrap things up nicely Drake also threw in an apology to Vanessa Bryant:
So people want to know: will you respond to Common?
“No. Because despite how it’s been worded by him that situation is not a “hip hop moment” or a “battle for the sake of musical integrity”…it’s a ploy for attention around the release of an album. More than anything it was just disappointing cause what kid isn’t a fan of what Common has done for our genre. A guy who made such an incredible career for himself based off expressing genuine feelings about life and love is now targeting me for sharing my story.
There’s a line from your “Stay Schemin” verse about Kobe’s soon to be ex-wife Vanessa that has gotten some negative attention. Can you speak to what you were trying to express with that line?
“That line came from a conversation about being this young and making this much money and the fear of losing it all. I just used his potential situation to address my own life. I never intended to offend Vanessa or anyone else. That line had everything to do with me and what goes on in my head as a 25 year old man with this much income flowing in. Kobe is and always will be a friend and an icon to me.”

Drake Threatens Tattoo Artist Who Called Him 'Soft'
Rapper Drake is in the business of toughening up his image. First order of business was to respond to Rapper Common who called him "sweet". That beef has since fizzled and died. Next up was a tattoo artist who called Drake "soft" after a woman requested Drake's name plastered across her forward. When Drake got news of the artist's comments he said,
‘‘F*ck you’ to that tattoo artist by the way because you’re an asshole for real. You should lose your job and never do tattoos again and I don’t f*ck with you and if I ever see you I’m going to f*ck you up.”
It turned out to mean if my security guards ever see you they will give you a warning and a warning they did.
Drake drove up to the Tattoo artist's parlor and sent his muscle men to do the dirty work. Here's the the artist describes the incident,
Drake sent his security detail into the shop to inform me that “nobody is going to hurt Drake in the state of California.”. I don’t remember ever saying I was going to hurt him, but maybe they were referring to his feelings.
Wow, this guy never quits in beating Drake at his own game. He continued,
Guess you could call it sorted out. When Drake was in LA last, he parked out front of the shop and sent in this huge security dude. Calling Drake “soft” was like calling Justin Bieber a p**sy. I kinda feel bad for the dude now. Drake said he would beat my ass, not me. Now I’m just embarrassed for him. He made himself look like a weenie. I just think it’s funny that he made the threats and when I actually responded, he sent in the troops
The artist insist Drake's security didn't touch him,
"Naw they just told me that “this was my first warning”.

Why Drake Tattooed Aaliyah On His Back
Rapper Drake loved and missed the late singer Aaliyah so much that he tattooed her image on his back. Earlier this month a super fan tattooed Drake's name on her forehead. The rapper responded, “I want to meet her and understand what happened. “That’s cool, though. I feel you a 100 percent.
That, to me, is like absolutely incredible.” Here's what Drake said previously about Aaliyah, “Dear Dana, I’ve never lost a parent, a friend, or a lover but I will never forget this day for the rest of my life. I remember getting the news that you had passed and it connected with my heart like a clean shot from Muhammad Ali. I was crushed.”
Hmm..here's hoping this trend doesn't go into 2012..

Rapper Common Refuses To Fall Back On Drake Diss
Rapper Common is creating some extra buzz for himself after Drake responded to what was perceived to be a direct diss. On his recently released album 'The Dreamer/The Believer/ Common dropped "Sweet". The line in question is below:
"Y’all soft motherf–kers, singing all around me man, la la la/ You ain’t motherf–kin’ Frank Sinatra/Uh, lil’ b*tch…Sweet Ass Muthaf*cker"
Drake took the lyrics as a personal attack, presumably since he's the main rapper singing right now and responded while performing at the 106FM's Cali Christmas:
"I will never stop doing this for ya’ll. I don’t give a f*ck if you have something to say to me. Say it to my muthaf*ckin’ face. Just cause I sing don’t make me no b-tch”
How many times will Drake have to remind us that just because he's comfortable with his emotions and sings, doesn't mean he's soft....JS
Anyway, Common called into Tony Scuffield and the Morning Riot radio show and responded:
"I made a song that’s definitely a Hip-Hop song; in hip-hop it’s like stepping in the ring. Rap is a contact sport so I talked about there’s cats that are soft and sweet. Drake felt offended and it was directed toward him so he said, “Man, say it to my face.” My thing is I’m going to keep it hip-hop and stay on that tip but if he falls in that category then so be it. I’m not going to hold my tongue like I say in the song.
I look at it like this, when Jay-Z made ‘DOA,’ I don’t think he specifically was like “I’m going to write this song about T-Pain” but T-Pains fits in that category so he might felt offended. At the end of the day, it’s all hip-hop."
What do you make of this "beef"?

Rihanna Sending Secret Messages To Chris Brown
Rihanna's downward spiral continues. Yesterday while listening to her iPod on her never ending tour, Rihanna allegedly sub tweeted some of the lyrics from Drake's album 'Take Care' to Chris Brown.
First: "I've loved and I've lost!!!" Then: "But I need someone different...u know it, we both know it."
And finally: "I know he messed up, but let a real n**ga make it right."
It's not hard to see how the lyrics correlate with Rihanna's troubled relationship with Chris Brown. Riri's fans quickly pointed out that maybe the tweets were intended for Drake. Who knows...the tweets could have been for no one in particular but we need Rihanna to take a break before she does something to permanently damage her career!

Drake Shakes Up Management Team To Go Global
Drake has reportedly changed things up within his management team. Just a week after Drake's sophomore album sold over 600,000 units and sealed the no. 1 spot, he dropped his management team.
Drake was initially managed by International Creative Management, (ICM) and US based Hip Hop Since 1978, which includes Gee Roberson, Al Branch, Kyambo Joshua and Bryant Cortez
Since 1978 also manages Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Kanye West. The NY Post reported that Drake dropped both management teams because, according to a source, "He was getting pulled in too many directions." And "Drake just felt like there were too many hands in his pockets."
But while Drake did in fact drop ICM he did remain with Hip Hop since 1978 and joined William Morris Endeavor (WME).
A rep for WME told Allhiphop that they will manage Drake's global reach while Hip Hop Since 1978 will manage his local reach.
Apparently Birdman had to jump in to confirm that Drake did not leave Hip Hop Since 1978.

Drake Talks Being Himself In The Rap Game
Rapper Drake is on his umpteenth cover promoting his sophomore album 'Take Care'. This time he covers the latest issue of Jet magazine.
On getting respect in the industry:
"I think that it's evident that I'm myself, and I think people respect me for that across the board, he says. I get respect from the guys who are respected for being real rapper's rappers. I get respect from women. I get respect from mothers, fathers and kids. It’s very humbling and flattering and incredible, and I’m honored to be in this position because I get to be myself. And I get a lot of love for it.”
On the importance of being himself on every record:
“Music is the only way that I can really vent and tell my story. It’s definitely personal. It’s definitely very vivid, detailed, and I feel it’s an incredible chapter of my life documented,” he says. “All these albums and mixtapes are just time markers for me. Pictures and social media are great, but I think the best way for me to remember real feelings that I’ve experienced is to make music about it.”
Drake is on track to sell just over 700,000 units of Take Care.

If taking pictures with her on the red carpet at the 2011 American Music Awards and holding hands means anything is that they're definitely more than just friends. Maliah was linked to Drake last year after they were spotted out several times. Drake dropped her name in "Miss Me" "Someone tell Maliah I'm on fire, she should work tonight". Maliah also told Vibe last year she met Drake's mother. But went sour because Drake rapped later, "I thought I found the girl/Of my dreams at a strip club/F**k it I was wrong though."
Well, where Drake failed, Sean Kingston is hoping to succeed. Watch the most recent Maliah Michel video.

Drake On Chris Brown Elbow: 'Somebody Would've Got Knocked The F Out'
Drake is once again talking up his favorite girls, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. Drake maintains Nicki Minaj is still the perfect girl from him but he's flatly denying that he was sitting in a corner crying after his short fling with Rihanna and Chris Brown definitely did NOT elbow him. Here are some excerpts from his interview with The Daily Beast,
On Rihanna:
“I came straight from Toronto, just a kid that was trying to get out of my mom’s house, and the first person I meet is a girl that’s the biggest person you could possibly meet at my age. So I meet her and it was just mind-blowing. I couldn’t believe she’d even want to talk to me. I read some interview where they painted me as so sad and heartbroken, but we’re cool. I was never torn apart by that situation.”
On whether he was elbowed by Chris Brown: “I respect Chris Brown. I’d like to call myself a friend—I don’t know if I’m allowed to do that. But I definitely didn’t get elbowed in my face. Somebody would’ve got knocked the f**k out.”
On Nicki Minaj: “If there’s any woman in my life that’s the ideal woman for me, it’s definitely Nicki. I like the stripped-down Nicki. I like Nicki with no makeup, black hair, some casual clothes in a recording booth rapping an amazing verse. That’s sexy to me. I know some great women, but all jokes aside, Nicki is somebody I could spend my life with because I think we understand each other.”

Ludacris Fires Shots At Drake And Big Sean
Just one day after Drake dropped his sophomore album 'Take Care' Atlanta rapper Ludacris decided it was the perfect time to drop his mixtape diss dedicated to Drake and Big Sean. Here's the beef started according to MTV,
Back in May Big Sean joined Sway on RapFix Live, where he chatted about rappers who were duplicating his “Supa Dupa” punch line flow (aka hashtag rap). In an earlier interview with AllHipHop, Drake—who credits Sean with introducing him to the style, made popular on tracks like “Forever”—called out Ludacris, in particular, for an unsuccessful attempt at copying the style on the single “My Chick Bad” ("Comin' down the street like a parade/Macy's!") Luda clearly hasn’t forgotten the jab, because on the new single “Bada Boom” from his 1.21 Gigawatts: Back To the First Time mixtape the ATL rapper takes a few shots at Big Sean and Drake.
Check out the few verses from the Luda's diss track 'Bada Boom'
I’m the truth in this booth and you n*ggas all h*es, Counterfeit rappers say I’m stealing they flows but I can’t steal what you never made up b*tch Y’all some duplicate rap cloning n*ggas I manufacture you h*es put on your makeup b*tch
Let me explain, nothing’s been new since Big Daddy Kane Flows’ll get recycled, passed around to different names 11 years and still counting, Y’all get a couple hit records, make some noise and have the nerve to start shouting? Who’s gassing ‘em?
If one diss track wasn't enough Ludacris also has a track called 'History Lesson' with several clips of veteran rappers including Method Man and Cam'ron using the same flow.
What do you think - did Luda overreact or did he need to put Drake and Big Sean in their place?

Drake Fears No Hip Hop Artist And Really Loves Serena
Drake may openly express his emotions, like all the time, but don't take his "softness" for weakness. The "Thank You" rapper who's sophomore album 'Take Care' drops today opened up to Complex magazine and his fears and love.
On his fears: Dying, before I accomplish all this. That’s it. My father taught me: ‘Don’t fear any man. Don’t ever fear another person.’ I don’t get myself mixed up with stupid sh*t. I get a lot of love. I don’t feel tension. I stand 6’2″. By no means am I the most threatening guy in the rap game, but there are very few people who will come up and say that sh*t to me in person. It’s always all smiles. That’s one thing I do not fear, anyone in this game. Nobody. Especially none of these guys that are paid to talk sh*t.
If somebody wants to bring a problem to me, it’s strictly based off of their immense amount of hate for me,” he says. “It’s never because I’ve sparked that using my voice, my image, or my outlet. I never use my outlet for confrontation or negativity, ever. I always try and give people music to ride to and music to enjoy. All I ever ask in return is that it’s mutual love.” Is that too much to ask? Maybe. But what can you do when the love turns to hate? “I’m ready for whatever,” he says. “I don’t give a f*ck. I want to move through life in the most non-confrontational way possible, but I’m not a pussy. Don’t ever get that mixed up.”
On his love: “I really, really love and care for Serena Williams. She’s incredible. That’s someone I’m proud to say I know. She’s definitely in my life and I’m in her life. It’s great to watch her play tennis. Very impressive.” What do you think of Drake's interview?

Drake Says Lil Wayne's Done More Than Jay-Z For His Career
Drake may not care to jump into Jay-Z and Lil Wayne's feud but he is making it known who he rolls with it. The Young Money prodigy credits Wayne for his success. He tells GQ:
I’m just riding with Wayne, always. I’ll never sit here and say that Wayne compromised me. I’m just doing what I got do. I’m a Cash Money soldier. That’s who I ride for. [...] Wayne’s done way more for my career than Jay-Z. Wayne is the reason I’m here.
On J Cole: "That's [Jay-Z's] artist. Cole's my brother, he's an artist I respect so much but I know he'd say the same thing," Drake said. "We've got bosses. We're just falling in line, doing what we got to do."
What's up with the sweaters? Drake: Yes, I do. It's a toss-up between three sweaters. I'd say one would be obviously the OVO Owl Sweater. I can wear it repetitively and no one calls me out on it. I have a cashmere Hermes sweater that I love. Lastly, any of my Missoni sweaters. I don't give a fuck what anybody says about my Missoni sweaters! Fuck you, if you don't like my sweater! [Editor's note: A middle-aged couple sitting next to us sharply turn their heads.] It's funny because people only talk about me and sweaters because I don't give them anything else to talk about. I live in Canada, so any dirt I do you'll never see because we don't have the paparazzi up there! It's the stupidest thing, man, but I'll embrace it. Hopefully Missoni hollers at me and we get a sweater line popping! People talk a lot of shit, anything you wish they'd stop saying? Drake: That's tough. I wish that we lived in a time and a generation where people would stop viewing my honesty as overly emotional. People always act like I spend my life crying in a dark room. I don't, I'm good. I'm a man. I want to be remembered as an artist that gave you a piece of me, as opposed to some surface bullshit. I don't think people realize that we die, we leave here, and either they forget about you or remember you. And how they remember you is up to you. I just want to be remembered as a poet that was open and honest because I wake up every morning and I'm me.

Nicki Minaj Accused Of Attacking Facialist
Nicki Minaj might just be the female Chris Brown in hip hop. After one mishap you become the moving target to get called out. Within the last 6 months Nicki Minaj has been named in at least four incidents that resulted in a screaming match and at least two where police was called. Just last month Nicki allegedly spazzed out on her maid and her hype man/boyfriend Safaree moved the maid with his body *sounds suspect*.
In the most recent incident Safaree did not play a part...it was Nicki Nicki all by herself. According to Radar Online, Nicki Minaj got vex when a Dawn DaLuise, a facialist, did a sh*tty job on Nicki's eyebrows.
Dawn recalls, "After I waxed her eyebrows and lip, she started screaming ‘Who the f**k do you think you are?’” “‘Look what you did to my damn face! You think this sh*t is worth 170 dollars?’” *Wait, Nicki pays $170 for an eyebrow wax???*
Reportedly Nicki threw bills at Dawn and stormed out. If that wasn't enough to sell tell her story Dawn also recalled a time when she visited Nicki at her apartment for an appointment,
"I arrived at her condo one afternoon, her eyes were dilated, her wig was falling off, her face was covered in red sores and she was perspiring heavily.
"She was swearing and screaming at her assistant."
Wonder if Safaree had anything to do with that....come get your girl Drake!

Taraji P. Henson Reveals Drake Had A Crush On Her
Actress Taraji P. Henson revealed rapper Drake had a huge crush on her but he was too young for her to date! Taraji also revealed that she and Tyrese never dated, nor Terrence Howard but she did date Common! Was this pre or post Serena??? Any who, Taraji dished on her crushes and past loves to Wendy Williams,
On Drake
Drake was a friend. It was cute because I knew he liked me and I kept looking at him like ‘If you were ten years older, boy whew’ but no. I couldn’t because he is seven years older than my son.
On dating Common
Okay I’ll tell you the truth, Common and I did date. All the rest no.
On Terrence Howard
Terrence and I never ever [dated]. Here’s my thing, I don’t mix business with pleasure and I’m saying this to the young girls out there that want to get into the business. Whatever you do in your private life should be just that, private. If you are a hoe, girl be a hoe behind the scenes because if you are having sex with them, why would they want to work with you again? Think about it.

Justin Bieber Recruits Kanye West And Drake For New Album
Justin Bieber may have gotten the boot from BET's Cypher but he's quickly regaining some street cred with the announcement of collaborations with Kanye West and Drake separately.
The pop singer who reportedly enlisted Ludacris to write his rhymes for the cypher, Luda has denied the claim, further confirmed his love for the genre when he remixed Drake's 'Trust Issues', rapped on Chris Brown's mixtape and even has a rap alter ego called 'Shawty Mane'.
Of course its a two way street - Bieber fever is real and artist can benefit from Bieber's die hard fans.
Bieber told Capital FM about his sophomore album 'Believe',
“I’m working with a lot of cool people. I’m working with Kanye. Drake is gonna work on the album with me and a lot of different artists.”
What do you think of these kinds of collaborations - does it take away or add to hip hop?

Drake Considers Kanye West Real Competition In Source Power 30 Issue
Rapper Drake covers Source magazine annual Power 30 issue. With his sophomore album 'Take Care' dropping next month Drake is letting rappers know he's no longer the rookie. In a quote made available through thesource.com, Drake stated
"When I was a kid trying to figure out what I liked, it was [Kanye] who I related to the most. He was an artist, in every sense, from his cover art to his music. Now, I would say he was a really great competitor…."
"Was a really great competitor"?? So Drake went from admiring Kanye West to shooting straight past him?

Catya Of Bad Girls Club Praises Drake's 'Peach Eating' Skills
Catya Washington or Ms. Cat from Bad Girls Club was spilling ALL the juicy details about her relationship with Drake to Q Deezy of Philly's Hot 107.9.
On how they hooked up:
We met on the set of “Best I Ever Had.” It was real cool! We sat on the bleachers on set directed by Kanye. Having fun, tweeted each other back and forth–real cool. Never thought it would go anywhere just cool, kicking it. The next thing you know I’m in Toronto and we’re having dinner.
He flew me out to Toronto and we started kicking it and liking each other. One flight turned into ten then the next thing you know I got a toothbrush in there and it’s on.
Cat stated she officially moved in with Drake in Toronto and even met his mothers! On getting on a first name basis with Drake's mom:
Well, at first it was like that but then it was like, “Oh this hoe is still around, huh? Oh, she’s still here.” After a while it was like, “Hey, Mom!” I’m from Philly and I’m in Toronto now…that’s my boo.
On how deep her relationship got with Drake: ...it was an awesome relationship. I was in love, he was in love and by the way in the song he said he was in love, so don’t try to switch it up now. I never mentioned you, you mentioned me. It was good. I’m talking family dinners and we in Whole Foods pushing the cart around. It was a regular relationship. I was in love and he was in love but at the end of the day he started getting a little bit too loose. Meaning he pops up in the tabloids with Maliah, trips to Jamaica that I wasn’t invited to or never heard about. I’m from Philly and we don’t go for that.
On his private package: He is a phenomenal “peach eater” and he is black and Jewish and the black side is Mandingo.
On the break up: Well, we broke up because I wanted to do the Bad Girls Club and that was a whole big issue too. I was like, “I have my own career and I need to move forward to and he was kind of like “I really don’t want you to go on there and embarrass me.” I was like, “Well, you know my career is my career. You know you’re Drake and you’re cool but I need to be cool too. I can’t sit around and try to get pregnant by you and be a baby mama. I need to make a career for myself.”
Wow - of course she ended the interview with letting Drake know she was available but too bad for Cat Drake's moved on to Nicki Minaj...Listen to Cat's full interview here.

Lil Wayne Sidesteps Drake 'Take Care' Criticism
Lil Wayne's protege Drake is receiving some criticism over his sophomore album 'Take Care'. Drake received mixed reviews after releasing the first single 'Marvin's Room' and now he's criticized for being too emotional.
Lil Wayne however is nothing but boastful of Drake's album,
"I actually haven't got a chance to listen to all of it, but I heard a few songs. I can tell, you know, I don't know nothing else out there that can touch it, including my stuff. That kid is on another planet."
Drake was unapologetic about his emotional rants;
"If I worried about how I'm gonna look saying this, then I wouldn't make half the music I make. People nitpick at me for being emotional or tapping into emotions, but like, man, we all die one day; that's just how I want to be remembered."
Are you looking forward to Drake's Take Care album?

Drake Recalls Rihanna Heartbreak
 Drake maybe recalling his heartbreak from a brief romance with Rihanna but he can rest easy as he finally secured Outkast rapper Andre 3000 for his sophomore album 'Take Care'. Drake was once denied by 3000 for his debut album but remained hopeful and his wish was granted. The Fader details the meeting as recalled by Drake's producer Noah '40' Shebib;
"The night before, Drake received a call from Andre 3000, who said he wanted to get on the rapper’s next LP—and, specifically, on a beat made by 40. The original name of the instrumental was 'Good Enough for the Both of Us. Suddenly they switch to boardroom mode. Drake, 40, and Drake’s DJ, Future the Prince, discuss Andre 3000 in frank, mathematical terms: the timbre of his voice, the cadences he prefers. They recall his obscure 'Walk it Out' freestyle and the run of features since then, and talk about how their instrumental could be modified to better suit Andre’s delivery."
We're guessing after waiting over a year for 3000, Drake wants to make it worth his while....pause.

Drake Delays Sophomore Album 'Take Care' Until November 15th
Rapper Drake has officially announced he's pushing his sophomore album 'Take Care' back by a few weeks. After his debut album 'Thank Me Late' hit no. 1 on the Billboard charts in its first week, fans were eagerly awaiting his sophomore effort.
Drake explained the delay on his OVO blog,
"So I have completed 19 songs (17 on physical and 2 on bonus), and have run into a roadblock of clearing 3 samples in time to make the October 24th date.
"My options were to take the songs off and make the birthday release happen, or to take an extra couple weeks to get the paper work right and give you the album [the] way I NEED you to hear it."
"This music means too much for me to get attached to dates and I do apologize for the delay but I promise that it is only for the benefit of our experience together."
Were you anticipating 'Take Care'? If you were, check out the new music video for Headlines - what do you think?

Drake Distance Himself From Lil Wayne And Jay-Z Beef
Drake is attempting to remain out of the once again brewing beef between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne. Though that may be a little difficult since Drake is featured on the song in question. Lil Wayne's "It's Good". Wayne raps,
"Talkin' about baby money, I got your baby money/ Kidnap your b****, get that how much you love your lady money. I know you fake n****, press your brakes n****/ I'll take you out, that's a date, n****."
Drake added, "Please pardon my brother/ He's just angry at you n****s who don't have your heart in your rap s***/ And got too f***in comfy, cause we still f***in hungry."
When asked about the beef Drake was quick to dismiss his part in anything,
"At the end of the day, rap is an individual art," he said. "You express yourself and whatever you wanna say, you say it, so I guess that's a question for Wayne more than me."
Really? Do you think Drake cowered his way out of the battle?

Rihanna Plays Hard To Get
Rihanna who's currently on her LOUD tour and partying through her tour stops reveals she likes to play hard to get and men should have to earn her affection.

"I'm open to love. But guys should have to earn it because, the minute they get it, they want something else."
"Men are like hunters, they like the chase, so you have to keep 'em guessing. I'm like that too. I get bored fast. So if someone can make me laugh, that's the best.
"I'm turned on by different things. It could be the way he looks. It could be his intelligence. It's really a spontaneous thing," she added.

Are Rihanna and Matt Kemp Officially Over?
Rihanna has reportedly ended her relationship with baseball player Matt Kemp, according to various online reports. Matt Kemp and pop singer Rihanna Fenty have supposedly drifted apart because of a lack of trust due to the cheating that has been going on between the couple. According to sources:
Matt Kemp and Rihanna have been dating for quite a while..Throughout their relationship, rumors of cheating on both sides surfaced daily..Now the baseball star and his pop star girlfriend have called it quits. With Kemp smack dab in the middle of his off-season, and Rihanna traveling the globe promoting her music, the two slowly drifted apart..Kemp’s penchant for clubbing was also partly to blame for the demise of their relationship..My sources tell me Kemp left a Hollywood club last week with two girls in tow and brought them home..My eyewitness who was there, tells me the two girls both crashed in Matt’s room the entire night..I doubt he was reading them bedtime stories..Rihanna was ready to move on as well..Her reported romance with Drake was semi responsible for the fights that eventually lead to the split..I wouldn’t be surprised if they rekindled a few times..but my source tells me it’s officially over.
Looks like Rihanna is definitely not sticking around long for any more dysfunctional relationships.

Drake Openly Blazing A Marijuana Joint In A Club
Drake sparked his “Lights, Dreams and Nightmares” tour in Miami on September 20th, and apparently the tour wasn't the only thing that got sparked up. While partying at the Miami Beach hot-spot Liv Nightclub in the Fontainebleau Hotel, the hit-maker was spotted hitting a joint. Being that smoking in bars and clubs is illegal in Miami, not to mention marijuana is considered a controlled substance, Drake should be careful about what he does in the public. The whole Young Money family can't get locked up. That will hurt fans and pockets.

They are so close now they can even co-habitate a stage.

Demi Lovato Goes From Disney To Trey Songz & Drake
Former Disney star, Demi Lovato wants to grow with her audience - this means that she has to become mature and relevant and still keep it clean. On her third album, Demi Lovato has two artists that top her wishlist of features: Drake and Trey Songz. In an interview with MTV, Demi Lovato says:
“I’m really just taking that next step and learning to make my music more radio friendly but also stay very artistic, and for me that’s R&B. I can put my vocal stylings on song that are R&B and it showcases my vocals more than just singing really loud on a rock song.”
Maybe before Demi Lovato works with Trey Songz, someone in her camp should tell her about Neighbors Know My Name” and “Invented Sex.” - we're just saying.....

Is Drake Turning Maliah Michel Into The Next Amber Rose?
Rapper, Drake, has been seen out and about town hugged up with his video boo, Maliah Michel (from the Find Your Love video) a little too much for most bloggers to believe that it's purely a platonic relationship. And, this won't be the first time Drake was allegedly romantically linked to video vixens, either. His first victim was the starry-eyed Bria Myles, who quickly disappeared once Drake rose to national fame. Nowadays, Drake seems to be a little more confident with his ex-stripper-not-quite-girlfriend. According to one source:

Chris Brown's Song Accuses Rihanna Of Cheating With Drake
Chris Brown may not be able to get his 20/20 special aired on ABC, but, he still gets to throw Rihanna under the bus at least a little with a track off his latest album entitled 'Famous Girl'. Here are some of the lyrics:
Drake would say you're the best he ever had . . . Everywhere we go, rumors follow... yet I still love you
Then later Chris Brown says : Should have known you'd break my heart . . . You were the first to play the game... Though I was wrong for cheating in the beginning
And then later:
I was wrong for writing Disturbia
Uh Oh... the fallout of this might ricochet into good record sales for Chris Brown and married with Rihanna's poor performance, public opinion may just turn in Chris' favor!

Nicki Minaj Defends Her Written Ryhmes
Nicki Minaj defends herself against critics who rode on her for not free styling at the BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher. Nicki had this to say in her defense:
"How many people on that cypher do you think spit off the top of their head?" Minaj fumed to Richmond, Virginia, radio host TT Torrez last week. "I don't write off the top of my head. I can't come up with those punch lines and metaphors off the top of my head. Everybody besides KRS-One, who else can you name that spit off the top of their head? They will tear apart a female, like, 'She did a good verse, but she wrote it.' ... The only thing that matters is that I wrote on a paper and memorized it. Wayne never wrote my sh--. No one ever wrote my stuff."
Umm...according to Jay-z he completes a whole album off the top without writing down a word and a few more artist other than KRS. But I see her point though, not every artist will have the same creative process, it can't hurt to build up on both skills - just a little tip for you there Nicki. Especially being a female in the game.

Is Drake Worth $4million?
There was a crazy bidding war for Drake but in the end he signed to Universal and Young Money with Lil Wayne. Drake who enjoyed the courting of various labels including Atlantic who offering a $2million signing deal rejected all the deals and wanted to wait. Lil Wayne is practically on all his signals so naturally Young Money was courting Drake also. But Drake was apprehensive about the reputation that follows Cash Money similar to Diddy and Bad Boy. But I guess money and contractual guarantees wipes that way.
Word is that Young Money doubled the Atlantic deal - $4million! I know you have heard a few of his singles, is Drake worth it?

Drake's Groupie Tale is as PG as his Degrassi High Career

Here's a little Friday afternoon groupie tale about Mr. "Best I Ever Had " Drake. Isn't he supposed to be in love with Bria Myles or is it Rihanna now? Anyways...peep how this fool be simpin' for one night stands.
"I know a lot of females have put up groupie stores about Drake saying that he is big thick and long...All that non-sense which i don't believe ever happened. This is my story and i know if Drake reads this he's going to know who i am but i just want people to know that he isn't like that at all!
I started talking to Drake on myspace. One day i got a message from him asking me for my aim screen name. From there we've been keeping in touch. So Wayne was having the Young Money tour and Drake told me that he would be in my town and he will reserve three tickets for me and my friends and that we should pick it up when we get there. During the concert we were able to go back stage. Basically just hanging around and listening to the performances from the back which was pretty cool because it was the first time i met Drake even though we've been talking on aim for awhile. He gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek and was happy to see me. After the concert he invited me and my friends to his hotel room and we played xbox live, talked, ate and chilled. His homies were there also so my friends weren't feeling like third wheelers. Then it was real late and i had to get back to my dorm and he gave me a kiss and hug saying he's going to miss me and already can't wait to see me again. We talk everyday even if he's busy he would text me and ask how im doing. He's a real sweet guy and he's nothing like what any of those three females were saying. Lol like come on Drake will not go down on a groupie or even on a first date! I just wanted to tell my story because everyone wanted to tell lies and U wanted to tell the truth so everyone can know what a nice person he is."
BOOOOO! Drake sounds like he be in love with these chicks. Meeting them on myspace, kissing and hugging, then dropping them off at dorm rooms....we hope Rihanna shows him how real girls get down on the floor.
