John McCain Gets Reminded By Obama 'We're Not Campaigning Anymore'
Senator John McCain is in the middle of the healthcare reform debate between President Obama and the Republicans that took place today at the Blair House. John McCain criticized concessions made to conservative Democrats, referring to the “Louisiana Purchase” and “Cornhusker Kickback.” And he railed against what he called “special interests,” such as the deal struck with PhRma. John McCain’s attacks then became more personal, as he invoked the 2008 presidential campaign:

Senator Harry Reid Continues To Get Hammered over President Obama Racial Comment
Senator Harry Reid's remark that President Obama's “light-skinned” and
carrying the advantage of having “no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to
have one” is if nothing else an accurate assessment of the racial
assumptions in this society. That fact however is of no value in an
election year. The republican party smell blood on this one and they
are going in. There has been calls from almost every member of the GOP
for Sen. Harry Reid to step down. The latest call has come from
Michael Steele, Republican National Committee chairman and Sen. John
Cornyn, R-Texas, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial
Committee. Our bet is that Senator Harry Reid will not step down unless there are some other things hiding in his closet.

Dalai Lama Says Obama Peace Prize Is Too Early
The Dalai Lama won the Nobel Peace Prize 20 years ago for his peaceful opposition to Chinese rule in his country, but believes President Obama was awarded the prize "a little" too soon. As President Barack Obama prepares to accept the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, the Dalai Lama told one news source he believes the award is "a little early" and cautioned the U.S. president against relying too much on his advisers.

Obama Nobel Peace Prize Entire Speech Transcribed

Your Majesties, Your Royal Highnesses, Distinguished Members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, citizens of America, and citizens of the world: I receive this honor with deep gratitude and great humility. It is an award that speaks to our highest aspirations — that for all the cruelty and hardship of our world, we are not mere prisoners of fate. Our actions matter, and can bend history in the direction of justice. And yet I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the considerable controversy that your generous decision has generated. In part, this is because I am at the beginning, and not the end, of my labors on the world stage. Compared to some of the giants of history who have received this prize — Schweitzer and King; Marshall and Mandela — my accomplishments are slight. And then there are the men and women around the world who have been jailed and beaten in the pursuit of justice; those who toil in humanitarian organizations to relieve suffering; the unrecognized millions whose quiet acts of courage and compassion inspire even the most hardened of cynics. I cannot argue with those who find these men and women — some known, some obscure to all but those they help — to be far more deserving of this honor than I. But perhaps the most profound issue surrounding my receipt of this prize is the fact that I am the Commander-in-Chief of a nation in the midst of two wars. One of these wars is winding down. The other is a conflict that America did not seek; one in which we are joined by 43 other countries — including Norway — in an effort to defend ourselves and all nations from further attacks. Still, we are at war, and I am responsible for the deployment of thousands of young Americans to battle in a distant land. Some will kill. Some will be killed. And so I come here with an acute sense of the cost of armed conflict — filled with difficult questions about the relationship between war and peace, and our effort to replace one with the other. These questions are not new. War, in one form or another, appeared with the first man. At the dawn of history, its morality was not questioned; it was simply a fact, like drought or disease — the manner in which tribes and then civilizations sought power and settled their differences. Over time, as codes of law sought to control violence within groups, so did philosophers, clerics and statesmen seek to regulate the destructive power of war. The concept of a "just war" emerged, suggesting that war is justified only when it meets certain preconditions: if it is waged as a last resort or in self-defense; if the forced used is proportional; and if, whenever possible, civilians are spared from violence. For most of history, this concept of just war was rarely observed. The capacity of human beings to think up new ways to kill one another proved inexhaustible, as did our capacity to exempt from mercy those who look different or pray to a different God. Wars between armies gave way to wars between nations — total wars in which the distinction between combatant and civilian became blurred. In the span of 30 years, such carnage would twice engulf this continent. And while it is hard to conceive of a cause more just than the defeat of the Third Reich and the Axis powers, World War II was a conflict in which the total number of civilians who died exceeded the number of soldiers who perished. In the wake of such destruction, and with the advent of the nuclear age, it became clear to victor and vanquished alike that the world needed institutions to prevent another World War. And so, a quarter century after the United States Senate rejected the League of Nations — an idea for which Woodrow Wilson received this Prize — America led the world in constructing an architecture to keep the peace: a Marshall Plan and a United Nations, mechanisms to govern the waging of war, treaties to protect human rights, prevent genocide and restrict the most dangerous weapons. In many ways, these efforts succeeded. Yes, terrible wars have been fought, and atrocities committed. But there has been no Third World War. The Cold War ended with jubilant crowds dismantling a wall. Commerce has stitched much of the world together. Billions have been lifted from poverty. The ideals of liberty, self-determination, equality and the rule of law have haltingly advanced. We are the heirs of the fortitude and foresight of generations past, and it is a legacy for which my own country is rightfully proud. A decade into a new century, this old architecture is buckling under the weight of new threats. The world may no longer shudder at the prospect of war between two nuclear superpowers, but proliferation may increase the risk of catastrophe. Terrorism has long been a tactic, but modern technology allows a few small men with outsized rage to murder innocents on a horrific scale. Moreover, wars between nations have increasingly given way to wars within nations. The resurgence of ethnic or sectarian conflicts, the growth of secessionist movements, insurgencies and failed states have increasingly trapped civilians in unending chaos. In today's wars, many more civilians are killed than soldiers; the seeds of future conflict are sown, economies are wrecked, civil societies torn asunder, refugees amassed and children scarred.

Obama Resurrects Hip-Hop
While President-elect Barack Obama's win marks a new era in America, hip-hop returns to its roots. The urban socioeconomics of the 1960’s that helped accelerate the rise of hip-hop are comparable to the recent wave of politically conscious raps emerging with a black president slated to head the Oval Office. Artists such as Ludacris( Politics), Juelz Santana (Black Republicans), Jin (Open letter to Obama) and Nas (Black President) are using music to proudly voice their political views and the “BET uncut generation” is listening. If hip-hop is dead then, Obama just gave it a pulse.

Barack Obama First Press Conference Transcript
Sen. Barack Obama spoke at a his first news conference as president-elect Friday afternoon. The following is a transcript of the conference:
Obama: Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you very much.
This morning, we woke up to more sobering news about the state of our economy. The 240,000 jobs lost in October marks the 10th consecutive month that our economy has shed jobs. In total, we've lost nearly 1.2 million jobs this year, and more than 10 million Americans are now unemployed.
Tens of millions of families are struggling to figure out how to pay the bills and stay in their homes. Their stories are an urgent reminder that we are facing the greatest economic challenge of our lifetime, and we're going to have to act swiftly to resolve it.
Now, the United States has only one government and one president at a time. And until January 20th of next year, that government is the current administration.
I've spoken to President Bush. I appreciate his commitment to ensuring that his economic policy team keeps us fully informed as developments unfold. And I'm also thankful for his invitation to the White House.
Immediately after I become president, I'm going to confront this economic crisis head on by taking all necessary steps to ease the credit crisis, help hardworking families, and restore growth and prosperity. Video Watch Obama urge swift action on the economy » Don't Miss And this morning, I met with members of my Transition Economic Advisory Board, who are standing behind me, alongside my vice president-elect, Joe Biden.
They will help to guide the work of my transition team, working with Rahm Emanuel, my chief of staff, in developing a strong set of policies to respond to this crisis. We discussed in the earlier meeting several of the most immediate challenges facing our economy and key priorities on which to focus on in the days and weeks ahead.

Russell Simmons is Proud of Hip Hop Youth role in Electing Obama
Hip Hop's first mogul, Russell Simmons is praising the hip hop community for steping up the table and helping to elect Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States.
In a post-election statement, Russell simmons wrote..."The election of Barack Obama, a resounding progressive voice, is a clear reflection of hip-hop politics. "Obama's election as president is a beautiful testament to the American collective consciousness that is flowering. This more loving consciousness will be necessary to protect us from some of our hurtful human choices and tendencies. "We will need it to create balance with the constantly emerging advances in technology, so, going forward, we can use these advances in a positive way to lift up Mother Earth and all her inhabitants. "I don't think I'm overstating it when I say that today, I feel like America has dodged a bullet. Let's support this beautiful leader to do the work necessary to promote and execute on the change agenda we all voted for."

Obama tell Young Black males to Pull Up Their Pants
While Barack Obama does not favor legal prohibitions on low-riders, he told MTV...
"brothers should pull up their pants. You are walking by your mother, your grandmother, your underwear is showing. What's wrong with that? Come on. There are some issues that we face, that you don't have to pass a law, but that doesn't mean folks can't have some sense and some respect for other people and, you know, some people might not want to see your underwear -- I'm one of them."
What do you think about Black males who wear their pants low and why do you think they do it?

Samuel Jackson Fears An Obama Assassination
Samuel Jackson is expressing fears that Barack Obama will face assassination attempts from white racists if he’s elected president on November 4th.
Samuel Jackson is quoted as saying,"At some point, somebody is gonna say something about 'that n**ger in the White House. They just haven't announced on the news that somebody in the back of some (vice-president candidate) Sarah Palin rally is going, to 'Kill that n**ger!' "It really bothers me sometimes that we have to be so politically correct. What we fear most as black people, who want him (Obama) to win or be elected, is when is someone gonna try and kill him? Everybody acts like that's not the elephant in the room but it is.""
At DimeWars, our greater concern is what would happen the day after that?

Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige + Diddy Issues Pro - Obama Letter to Voters
Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Diddy and Kevin Liles are making a last minute attempt to get Senator Barack Obama in the White House. In a open letter to voters they write:
"There is still so much work to be done. The thrill of victory is just one week away. We hear it in the streets, we feel it in our hearts and it's burning in our souls...Together, we have successfully registered the most young voters in the history of the modern political process. We called a State Of Emergency on October 3rd at 6:00AM and our culture stood up and recognized the importance of registering millions of voters."
Hip Hop is really investing a lot in the Obama campaign. Hopefully he doesn't have cultural amnesia when gets inside the white house.

Skinheads held On Plot to Kill Obama
Reuters is reporting that "two white supremacist skinheads were arrested in Tennessee over plans to go on a killing spree and eventually shoot Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, court documents showed on Monday. Daniel Cowart and Paul Schlesselman were charged in a criminal complaint with making threats against a presidential candidate, illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun and conspiracy to rob a gun dealer."
It is rather interesting, the tenacity of those who have made themselves out to be the enemy of progress, hope and change for the better. As we look forward to the likely event of Senator Barack Obama being elected as the next President of the United States of America, we must remain ever vigilant in our monitoring of those elements of society who refuse to accept the dawning of a new reality.

Google CEO Wants To Be President Obama's Tech Chief

Did you know? Besides sitting on Apple's board of directors, Google CEO Eric Schmidt has been an informal adviser to Barack Obama's presidential campaign. In fact, he lurves Obama so much that's he not just going to endorse him (shock, right?) he's going to actually campaign for him next week. And not just 'cause Obama might be good for business! No, he says he's "doing this personally." Very possibly because he wants to be the nation's very first Chief Technology Officer, a position Obama said he would create last year—maybe not-so-coincidentally right before he paid his first visit to Google!
While Schmidt says the Goog is officially neutral, the WSJ notes that "Congress is considering measures that could have an adverse impact on Google's business" like "rules that would allow telecommunications companies to charge different prices for different levels of Internet service," i.e., net non-neutrality. Obama has said that he is pro net-neutrality, which would benefit Google. Perhaps not-so-surprisingly, Google employees have donated nearly half a million dollars to Obama's campaign, and a mere $20,600 to John McCain as of Aug. 31, according to the Journal (which would likely make them among Obama's top corporate donors, since Verizon employees' $155,000 for McCain placed among his top 20 corporate donors ever).
Props To Gizmodo For The Info.
