Kobe Bryant and the Lakers Can Stop Panicking
The Los Angeles Lakers
of Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, et al, won a game. After
eight preseason losses that did not matter much but three regular season
defeats, concern set in with this team that had been projected by many
to be a championship contender.
Then the Detroit Pistons came to town and proved to be an elixir.
After their worst start to a season in 34 years, the Lakers finally,
occasionally resembled the powerhouse most expected to see this season —
even without Nash, who missed his second game with a small fracture in
his leg. Los Angeles took a 28-point lead in the first half and
stretched it to 36 points in the third quarter before winning 108-79.
“We had to stop the bleeding, and there wasn’t a way to do it other
than . . . getting a solid win,” forward Pau Gasol, who scored 14
points, said. “We’ve got a little bit of tension out of ourselves right
now.”
Howard was a force inside with 28 points. Bryant had 15, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Metta World Peach contributed 18 points.
“We needed this bad, just to change the mood and give us some of that
feel-good feeling,” said reserve guard Steve Blake, who started in
Nash’s place. “Losing games was tough. I guess we did a good job of
staying positive, but it feels good, that’s for sure.” Read the full story here.

Lakers Lose Season Opener
The Los Angeles Lakers looked a lot like the Los Angeles Lakers of
last season, which is not how it was expected to be with Steve Nash and
Dwight Howard joining Kobe Bryant. They had not won a preseason game
and nothing changed in the regular-season opener, falling at home to the
Dallas Mavericks, who did not have injured perennial all-star Dirk
Nowitzki.
All the anticipation and excitement was sucked out of the Staples
Center in the first quarter, when the Lakers plodded their way while the
Mavericks zoomed past them in a way similar to how the Oklahoma City
Thunder did in eliminating them in the playoffs last season.
The Lakers looked old and slow, much of it because they play a
half-court game in a league where speed wins. They talked patience after
the 99-91 defeat, but it is a wonder how long they will go forfeiting
their athleticism for a pound it low, Princeton-style pass and cut
offense.
“It’s not the way we wanted it to go,” foward Pau Gasol (20 points)
said. “Now we’ve just got to continue to stick with it. We know it’s not
going to happen right away.”
Despite their virtually energy-deficit effort, the Lakers could have
started the season with a win if they had not been an embarrassment from
the foul line. As a team, they were — ready for this? — 12 for 31 on
free throws. “I’ve never seen anything like that in a basketball game,”
Gasol said of the poor marksmanship. Read the full story here.

Kevin Duran Hopes To Cotend With Kobe For Western Dominance
The suddenly revamped Los Angeles Lakers may look like the best team
now, but championships aren’t won on paper. Or at least so advises
Oklahoma City All-Star forward Kevin Durant, who isn’t quite prepared to
concede Western Conference supremacy to the Lakers just yet even though
they made a big offseason splash with the signings of center Dwight
Howard and point guard Steve Nash to go along with Kobe Bryant and Pau
Gasol.
“People outside, fans, media, of course they are going to say [the
Lakers are the favorites] because, on paper, they have the best lineup
in the league,” he said during Monday’s media availability to promote his
new movie, “Thunderstruck.”
“But you still got to play the games. We respect everybody. We are going to go through the league respecting everybody as well.
“We already view ourselves as an elite team, but we have to prove it again. Last year is over with.”

Kobe Bryant Settles With Grizzle Fan
NBA star Kobe Bryant has agreed to an unspecified financial
settlement with the estate of a Memphis man who claimed the Los Angeles
Lakers guard intentionally hurt him while he sat courtside during a
Lakers/Grizzlies game in 2005.
Bill Geeslin has since passed away for reasons unrelated to the
incident, but alleged in a 2008 deposition that Bryant forearmed him in
the chest while diving for a loose ball during the Grizzlies’ 85-73 win
over their visitors at FedExForum.
“He did not apologize,” said
Geeslin, an insurance agent from Blytheville, Arkansas. “He walked away
and pushed – he kind of pushed his arm toward me and glared at me and
walked away.”
Geeslin surmised that Bryant was angry that his team was losing or
that the referees call no foul on the play leading to the sudden contact
between the two men.
Geeslin said the incident made him feel like “a human punching bag.”
He said he filed suit in federal court because he felt violated and
wanted to make sure that Bryant was never again able to “inject such
pain.” Read the full story here.

Vanessa Bryant Slams Gold Digger Label
For the record Vanessa Bryant is not a gold digger.
Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Bryant set off a media firestorm when New
York Daily News released portions of her interview that quickly
reaffirmed for many that she’s a gold digger. The paragraph that caused a
hail of criticism to descend on the 30-year old when something like
this;
“I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win
championships. If you’re sacrificing time away from my family and myself
for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship
should happen every single year.’
It’s easy to see how Vanessa’s comment could be “misconstrued” so she released a statement to clarify, I’m sad to hear that comments in my New York Magazine interview are
being misconstrued and taken out of context. I have and will continue to
support my husband’s dreams. I have been with Kobe for 13 years. I
accepted his marriage proposal PRIOR to him winning any of his 5
championships with his teammates. Read the rest here.

Vanessa Bryant Doesn't Want A Loser Husband
Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Bryant refuses to be married to a loser husband - thank goodness her current one has a few rings.
Vanessa sat down with New York magazine and gave readers a behind the scenes look at her life.
On her fashion style (while packing for the Olympics with her Chanel,
Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Rick Owens & J Brand clothes
spilling over)
“I’m inspired by Ann Miller and Monica Bellucci. My mom dressed so
ladylike, with high-waisted knee-length skirts, nylons, and long
tailored coats, always on her way to work.” (As far as Kobe’s style
goes) For the longest time I tried convincing Kobe that he should wear
things a little more fitted. And for years and years he was like, ‘I
don’t feel comfortable, I feel like they rise.’ And now all of a sudden
the stylist says it, and it makes sense.”
On her typical day and having NO nannies
“I think people imagine that I sit at home with all the time in the
world to do my hair and makeup, but that’s certainly not the case. I’m
up at 6:30 in the morning with my kids. I’m taking them wherever they
need to go. [I don't use a nanny.] That’s the way I was raised. [I've
never missed a sports game or practice of my daughters.] Read the rest here.

Team USA Wins Gold

It was not supposed to be like this. Kobe Bryant and LeBron James
said Team USA could beat the 1992 Dream Team of Michael Jordan, Magic
Johnson, et al.
But could they beat Spain in Sunday’s gold medal game in the London Olympics?
Turns out, they could, but only after a late-game finish – keyed by
tough defense and – that pushed the United States to a
too-close-for-comfort 107-100 victory.
It was hardly resounding, but it was good enough – for the gold and
to squash discussions about comparing it to the ’92 team that crushed
opponents by an average of 43 points a game.
In the scheme of things, it was only about the mission: winning gold.
And the U.S. did that. How uptight and relieved were the Americans?
When Chris Paul scored a layup in the final minute to put the United
States up by 13 points, coach Mike Krzyzewski jumped as if his team had
won the national championship.
Players, one-by-one hugged each other in exaltation in the waning seconds, their mission completely, if not dominant.
They had to overcome a strong effort by Spain’s Pau Gasol, who had 15
of his 24 points in the third quarter. The Los Angeles Laker took
advantage of the Americans’ smallish interior defense. Read the rest here.

Vanessa Bryant Brings Daughters To London To Support Kobe
Vanessa Bryant brought along her daughters to support their father Kobe Bryant in London. Her trip was not without scandal!
Vanessa was faced with a challenge ahead of arriving to London as photos surfaced that placed Kobe Bryant in a compromising position – between two women – twice! It turns out however that the photos can all be explained.
The first photo showed Kobe at a nightclub in Barcelona leaning into a young woman. Here are the details behind that photo:
“Kobe was at a social event with some of the other members of the USA basketball team. Two women sat down, asked for an autograph and left. He didn’t know them.”
The source adds, “After signing the autograph, he left that table to join friends at another table.”
In the second photo, Kobe is standing shirtless between two women. The explanation? Someone spilled a drink on his shirt and a minion ran off to get a clean one.
While each of those explanations may be valid, Vanessa is disappointed that Kobe has found himself in such compromising positions!

Michael Jordan Laughs At Kobe's Dream Team Comment
First Charles Barkley, now Michael Jordan. Maybe it’s a Hall of Fame thing.
For sure, Jordan said he “absolutely laughed” at Kobe Bryant’s comments that this year’s Team USA could handle the Jordan-led 1992 Dream Team that featured an unprecedented 11 Hall of Famers.
Jordan told The Associated Press today there’s “no comparison” which team is better.
“For him to compare those two teams is not one of the smarter things he ever could have done,” Jordan said prior to playing in a celebrity golf tournament in Charlotte.
Jordan said the 1992 team, which won its six Olympic games by an average of more than 43 points en route to capturing the gold medal, was a better overall team largely because of the experience it put on the floor.
“I heard Kobe say we were not athletic,” said a smiling Jordan as he sat in a golf cart puffing on his cigar while waiting to tee off. “But we were smart. He said we were too old, but I was 29 and in the prime of my career. Pip (Scottie Pippen) was 26 or 27, (Charles) Barkley was 29, Patrick (Ewing) was 29 and Chris Mullin was 29. Almost everybody was still in their 20s.”

Vanessa Bryant Decides Against Divorce From Kobe Bryant
Vanessa Bryant and Kobe Bryant called off their divorce after Mrs. Bryant filed in late December 2011. Since the filing Vanessa was awarded the deed on all but one of Kobe’s multi-million dollar properties in addition to an alleged $75 million settlement agreement. According to TMZ Vanessa is choosing not to sign the documents to make their divorce final.
Despite the embarrassing cheating scandal that alleged Kobe slept with upward of 100 women over their 10 year marriage the Los Angeles Laker star has remained adamant that he wants to reconcile with his wife for the sake of their daughters and his love for her. As things stand, Kobe may get that request. Vanessa has until this weekend before she hits the 6 month mark to file the final documents making the divorce final. Maybe that Valentine’s Day kiss sealed the deal?
Do you think Vanessa should move forward with the divorce? Source: Popularcritic.com

Kobe Bryant Divorce Still Going Strong
Kobe Bryant and his estranged wife Vanessa may have been spotted at a Los Angeles Kings hockey game with their daughters yesterday but their divorce is still on. It's obvious that Kobe is having a good time but with Vanessa's arms folded she either hates hockey or hates being in the same space with Kobe. According to their divorce filings Vanessa stands to gain $75 million and has already received the deed for Kobe's three mansions. Kobe said they are "really good friends" does it really make sense for Vanessa to reconcile? Unless of course she wants to increase that payout by another 25 million. :-)

Kobe Bryant Breaks Nose Minutes Before Passing Jordan's All Star Record
Kobe Bryant broke two things at Sunday's NBA All Star Game, his nose and Michael Jordan's All-star highest scorer record - both coming in the third quarter. First, Dwyane Wade fouled Kobe in the third - which many considered excessive given the lightheartedness of the game. Wade defended his foul,
"Yeah, I obviously didn't try to draw no blood, but I took a foul," Wade said afterward. "Kobe fouled me two times in a row, so he's still got one up on me. But I'm glad that everything was cool and we got back to being competitive and having fun."
Michael Jordan garnered 262 points in his 13 year all star career while Bryant broke that record on a dunk with 4:57 left in the third quarter of this 13th All Star game.
Other highlights in the game came from Bryant touting LeBron James to shoot the ball in the last few seconds of the game. James proceeded to pass and lost the opportunity to make the shot to tie the game. Despite having a great night, James is suffering a fresh dose of criticism for not being a clutch player.
Here's how ESPN puts it:
"Yeah, he was telling me to shoot it," LeBron said afterward, still sounding dejected from a late-game breakdown that soured a performance in which he had 36 points, seven assists and six rebounds to nearly lead the East back from a 21-point second-half deficit. "I (saw) my teammate open for a split-second. When I tried to throw it late, that's what usually happens and it results in a turnover. Definitely, I wish I could have that one back." What were your highlights of the 2012 NBA All Star game?

Kobe Bryant Promises To Never Cheat On Vanessa Again
Kobe Bryant allegedly slept with 105 women during his 10 year marriage so what does he tell his estranged wife Vanessa Bryant in an effort to call off the divorce - that he will swear off cheating forever. After just over 10 years of marriage Vanessa filed for divorce from Kobe in December 2011. In their joint statement Kobe revealed they had worked out a financial agreement and the divorce would be amicable. So far so good, at least for Vanessa. She received the deed to all of Kobe's mansions worth $18 million and will reportedly win another $75 million. Perhaps Kobe is having cold feet about parting with half of his net worth because TMZ is reporting that he doesn't want the divorce to continue.
Reportedly he promises to never cheat again and has already began lavishing Vanessa with expensive gifts. After sharing a kiss on Valentine's day following a Lakers game, Vanessa might be up for calling off the divorce. Maybe in the next few years she make out with $100 million plus another mansion. Hey, can't knock her hustle.

Kobe Bryant Gets Apology From Sanaa Lathan
Kobe Bryant may not have been looking for an apology but he got one from actress Sanaa Lathan. Last month Sanaa blasted rumors that she was dating Kobe after pictures surfaced of her flirtatious dancing in front of him at a Jay-Z and Kanye concert. Sanaa tweeted the next day,
“Anybody who pays attention knows I’m not his type… Blank stare. #blackgirlsrock #dontbelievethelies”
In a recent interview with Ebony magazine, Sanaa express regret for her statement,
"I probably shouldn’t have said that because I don’t discriminate when it comes to dating. I have dated all races and I believe you should be free to do whatever you want. But I was so annoyed because I was having such a great time at the concert and Kobe happen to be standing next to me, and then all of a sudden I was tied to his break-up. That’s absurd, and I tweeted that in the moment, and I regret it. But to each its own. It’s just funny that if it’s written people believe it, and even though I have said I have nothing to do with him, people are still saying when is the baby due?”
Was it necessary for Sanaa to apologize to Kobe?

Kobe Bryant Loses Three Mansion To Vanessa In Divorce
Kobe Bryant's divorce from Vanessa Bryant just got real. Kobe just signed over the deed to all three of his mansions to Vanessa. This includes the mansion they lived in as a family, Vanessa's mother's mansion (who knew mother-in-laws got their own) and a brand new mansion that is still under construction. Of course with a net worth of $150 million, losing three mansions isn't quite as big a deal. But Vanessa Bryant also won $75 million in the divorce.
According to TMZ, Kobe was suppose to live in the new mansion still being built - but Vanessa got all three. Somewhere Vanessa and her mother (who reportedly told her to wait til the 10 year mark) are celebrating with a Cosmo.....

Victor Ortiz Release Statement Against Vanessa Bryant Rumor
Victor Ortiz denies affair with Vanessa Bryant. Somehow the welterweight boxer was dragged into Kobe Bryant and Vanessa's drama with rumors that the pair were dating. The rumors apparently got back to Victor who denied it completely."I would like to deny any and all rumors that I am dating Vanessa Bryant. In fact, Mrs. Bryant and I have never met. It is unfortunate that during her family's trying times in her relationship with Kobe, uncaring people start these rumors without any merit."
"The only date I have is with destiny on February 11, 2012, against Andre Berto," Ortiz said. "That is the only date I'm focusing on. Happy and healthy holidays to all."

Kobe Bryant Wants To Make It Work For The Kids
Kobe Bryant isn't willing to let go of Vanessa Bryant just yet. Even though Bryant stands accused of sleeping with 105 women over the course of the estranged couples 10 and a half year marriage.
According to TMZ,
“We’re told Kobe is “deeply depressed” over the situation — and is very concerned about how his daughters will handle growing up in two separate households.”
With Vanessa potentially winning $75million in the divorce, exactly how big will the "apology" ring have to be this time?

Did Kobe Bryant Cheat On Vanessa With 105 Women?
Update-Vanessa Bryant is accusing Kobe Bryant of cheating on her with 105 women! At least that's what the tabloids are reporting. Kobe falls just short of Tiger Woods number of 121. Kobe Bryant's divorce will likely cost him $75m and with these cheating allegations are not helping his case/reputation. Here's what the source told the tabloid:
"[Vanessa] estimated that he was averaging at least 10 affairs a year with different women over the course of their marriage and puts his number of conquests at 105”.
“The lies and deceit hurt, of course, but racking up those kinds of numbers is mind-blowing and left her devastated. And when she discovered he was cheating during the recent NBA lockout, that was the final straw. her private detective caught him redhanded with incriminating photos.”
Not saying that Kobe is not capable but where are these women and why aren't they popping out of the wood works?! JS
Do you believe it?

Why Vanessa Bryant Waited 10 Years To Divorce Kobe Bryant
Why did Vanessa Bryant wait 10 and a half years to file for divorce from Kobe Bryant? For a big day of course, at least according to sources.
A solid 10 years of marriage in California makes it a long term marriage which means that the spouse must be taken care of until they remarry again.
Kobe Bryant's divorce will cost him somewhere in the ballpark of $75 million plus ongoing spousal and child support - yes, that's a plus.
Reportedly Vanessa was ready to check out of the marriage four years ago but her "smart" mother convinced her to wait it out for a big payday.
Read more on Vanessa Bryant's divorce plus a video that breaks down her scheme.

Vanessa Bryant's Ex-Step Father Calls Her A Gold Digger
Kobe Bryant's soon to be ex wife Vanessa Bryant is facing some backlash from her ex step father who has a some things to get off his chest. According to Stephen Laine, Vanessa learned from her mother.
Her mother taught her well to wait for the ten-year mark [before divorcing]. In California … it’s considered a long term marriage and then she gets paid for life or until she remarries … just like her mother is doing to me.”
I have to pay her mom $1,800 every month and clearly they don’t need it. I have a six-year-old daughter and that money could be used toward her college fund or something … you’d think she’d care … but no, she’s spiteful.”
Well say what you really mean! Either way, this divorce may cost Kobe upwards of $75 million.

Sanaa Lathan Say's She's Not Kobe Bryant's Type
Actress Sanaa Lathan wants to know she wasn't flirting with Kobe. Vanessa Bryant's divorce news has taken center stage and Sanaa wants nothing to do with it....or so she says. Sanaa was reportedly flirting heavily with Kobe at Jay-Z and Kanye's concert. One source said she was flipping her back and fourth and dancing in front of Kobe. At one point she even gently stroked his face. Of course the news broke out with the speed of light and Sanaa was forced to respond.
"Can a girl have some fun at a jayz/kanye concert w/out being linked 2 a breakup? I AM NOT, NEVER HAVE BEEN, INVOVLED W/KOBE IN ANY WAY."
"Anybody who pays attention knows I'm not his type... Blank stare. #blackgirlsrock #dontbelievethelies."
So if Sanaa knew she wasn't Kobe's type how does she explain this picture?

Kobe Bryant's Teammates Snitch On His Cheating Ways To Their Wives
Kobe Bryant may have thought what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room. In the case of the Los Angeles Lakers, what happens in the locker room is shared with their wives at home. In the latest news in Kobe Bryant's divorce, it appears that Kobe was outed by his teammates.
According to TMZ, the players told of Kobe's exploits to their wives hoping they could keep a secret. Needless to say news got back to Vanessa Bryant...
“According to our sources, the players often swear their wives to secrecy before dishing on their fellow ballers … but that secrecy is rarely kept. We’re told the women all share information about other guys around the league … in part to ensure word will get back to them if their man ever steps out.”
Looks like this will be one tough season for the Lakers....

Sanaa Lathan Spotted Flirting With Kobe Bryant Pre-Divorce
Actress Sanaa Lathan must have a sixth sense! At the same party where Kanye West was flirting with Kim Kardashian it appears that Sanaa was getting touchy with Kobe Bryant the night before he announced his divorce. Kobe's divorce from his wife Vanessa Bryant is topping all the headlines and somehow Sanaa found herself in the middle. On Thursday night a few celebrities hit up Jay-Z and Kanye's WTT concert and after party.
A source tells NY Daily News that was "flirting seductively with the Lakers guard during the show."
“She touched his face, and she was shaking her a-- in front of him to the music.” says the insider.
Before Sanaa wasn't near Kobe who came with teammate Matt Barnes but she found her way near him.
"Eventually, Lathan and Bryant ended up standing next to each other, and that’s when our source said the actress, who was drinking champagne, became progressively more flirtatious with the NBA star, who stuck to soft drinks, presumably because he’s in training. Lathan, attired in a sexy white-chiffon dress over what appeared to be a black bra, was “whispering in his ear” and at one point stroked the ballplayer’s face. “It seemed like a pretty intimate gesture.”
Whatever may or may not happen at the concert, Bryant's spokesperson Michael Sitrick denies it all. Oh well.

County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ.com. Sources tell TMZ, that

Chris Paul Traded To LA Clippers
Chris Paul was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers and this time it's for real. The New Orleans Hornets traded Chris Paul for guard Eric Gordon, forward Al-Farouq Aminu, center Chris Kaman and a first-round draft choice. Just last week Chris was at the cent of three-team deal that would have sent to the LA Lakers joining Kobe Bryant and co. NBA commissioner David Stern stopped the deal and stated his decision was the best thing for New Orleans Hornets, who's owned by the league.
''I knew we were doing the best thing for New Orleans and
that was my job. You have to stick with what you think
was right. I must confess it wasn't a lot of fun, but I don't get paid
to have fun.''
According to MSN Sports, Paul will have a lot to offer the Clippers:
"The 26-year-old Paul is a four-time All-Star who averaged 18.7 points and 9.8 assists last season, his sixth in the NBA. His move to the Clippers means he'll now be able to lob alley-oop passes to one of the best finishers in the game — one who's famous for dunking over a car. That would be forward Blake Griffin, who averaged 22.5 points and 12.1 rebounds last season, his first as a pro."
Chris Paul will reportedly sign a $100.2 million five-year extension with the Clippers. Nice.
What do you think of the trade?

Chris Paul Lakers Trade Blocked By David Stern
UPDATE-Chris Paul has been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers to not only maintain Kobe Bryant's dominance in the league but to make Paul the championship contender he'd always hope to be. Lamar Odom was sent packing to New Orleans in the three-team trade.
According to the Associated Press, The Houston Rockets who received Lakers Paul Gasol sent forward Louis Scola, shooting guard Kevin Martin and point guard Goran Dragic to New Orleans.
Next up on the block is Andrew Bynum for Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard. What do you think of a Lakers team with Kobe, Paul and Howard? In the latest round of back and fourth, Chris Paul is reportedly not being traded to Los Angeles Lakers. According to Yahoo Sports, some owners asked for NBA Commissioner David Stern to nullify the deal.
“The owners half-pushed this, and Stern took it the rest of the way,” a league source told Yahoo! Sports. “In the end, David didn’t like that the players were dictating where they wanted to go, like Carmelo [Anthony] had, and he wasn’t going to let Chris Paul dictate where he wanted to go.”
What do you think - was the best decision?

Shaquille 'Shaq' O'Neal and Kobe Bryant once made magic happen for the Los Angeles Lakers....and then it ended. The magic was lost and a friendship was broken. Shaq in his tell all, 'Shaq Uncut: My Story' shares what happened:
On the break down of his relationship with Kobe: So I’m on edge because I don’t have a new deal, and Kobe is on edge because he might be going to jail, so we’re taking it out on each other. Just before the start of the ’03-’04 season the coaching staff called us in and said, “No more public sparring or you’ll get fined.” … Phil was tired of it. Karl Malone and Gary Payton were sick of it. … So what happens? Immediately after that Kobe runs right out to Jim Gray and does this interview where he lets me have it. He said I was fat and out of shape. He said I was milking my toe injury for more time off, and the injury wasn’t even that serious. (Yeah, right. It only ended my damn career.) He said I was “lobbying for a contract extension when we have two Hall of Famers playing pretty much for free.” I’m sitting there watching this interview and I’m gonna explode. Hours earlier we had just promised our coach we’d stop. It was a truce broken. I let the guys know, “I’m going to kill him.”

Church Goers Defend Kobe Bryant Against Alleged Assault
St. Therese of Carmel Church is backing Kobe Bryant against allegedly assaulting another church goer. Thomas Hagos reported that Kobe grabbed his phone in an attempt to remove pictures he believed the man was taking of his family. Kobe reportedly grabbed Thomas' hand so hard that he needed medical treatment for a sprained wrist!
Kobe has denied the claims and now the church is standing behind him. According to TMZ, the church parishioners say they only saw Kobe praying! Meaning no one saw him grab a phone nor have they heard of the accuser Thomas Hagos.
Sounds more like the church knows that Kobe Bryant is better investment than this Hagos guy.....

Kobe Bryant Says Lakers Don't Get Excited Anymore
Kobe Bryant wants his team to be excited for tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs. After winning several championships this decade, Kobe Bryant doesn't think that the Laker get excited about anything and if they were they would win a lot more games.
"We haven't really been pointing at anything, that's been one of the problems, We don't really get too excited about anything anymore. I'm excited about this game. I'm excited about the challenge of it and hopefully the rest of the guys are too."
Hopefully the Laker's can get it together for the Spurs tonight, especially considering how things went down for them when they played Miami

Kobe Bryant Loses To Lebron James Again
Kobe Bryant - Lakers point guard Kobe Bryant was fuming after their epic loss to Lebron James and the Miami Heat. Though it shouldn't come as a surprise to Kobe who last year lost by 15 points to Lebron and the Cavaliers and this past weekend 16 points to the Heat. Kobe lamented after the game, "It's like these games mean more to our opponents than they do to us."
Lebron posted a triple double for the night, his third for the season. This win serves as a major confident booster for the Heat. But what does it mean for Kobe Bryant and the Lakers?

Kobe Bryant's Turkish Airlines Deal Causes Armenian Outrage

Kobe Bryant's latest endorsement deal has his Armenian Lakers fans crying foul. The Lakers basketball superstar just inked a deal to be the face of Turkish Airlines as it announced a plan to launch non-stop flights between Istanbul and Los Angeles in March. According to the terms of the deal, Bryant will appear in a film for the airline, make visits to Turkey and get paid a whole heap of cash for the use of his image, NBC Sports reported.
But the large Armenian population in Los Angeles are outraged over the endorsement and are urging Kobe Bryant to drop the deal because of disputed allegations of genocide against Armenians by Turkey.
Armenian groups and many scholars argue that Turkey committed genocide by targeting the ethnic group during what they said was a massacre beginning in 1915. Today, Turkey refuses to officially admit the genocide took place, which has been a source of tension between it and many of its Western allies – including the United States.
By inking the deal, the Armenian Youth Federation argued, Kobe Bryant wasn't properly acknowledging their community’s concerns. I wonder how many Armenians would care to acknowledge the plight of Kobe's ancestors.

“You guys want me there, I am there and I’m ready to defend,” Bryant said. “And then when you guys need me to put some points on the board, I’ll do that, too.”
Bryant confirmed his interest in wearing the red-white-and-blue again Tuesday night after scoring 23 points in Los Angeles’ 124-105 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Dwight Howard Chooses Kevin Durant Over LeBron James
Dwight Howard was asked on the Dan Patrick Show who he would want on his team, the All-Star chose Kevin Durant.
"I'm gonna go with Kevin," Howard said, who also insisted that the Lakers are still the best team in the NBA.
Kevin Durant just led Team USA to its first FIBA world basketball championship since 1994.
Dwight Howard isn't the only one to overlook LeBron James for another player. Last year, NBA legend Michael Jordan said Bryant is the best player in the league at one of his basketball camps.
Despite Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers winning the NBA championship this year, some people think the question of who is the best NBA player is between LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Is Kobe Bryant The Best Player In The NBA? Kevin Durant Thinks So
Kobe Bryant’s health and the wear and tear on his body over the years was a hot-button topic with the media going into the NBA playoffs. Many Critics questioned if the LA Lakers' 31 year old reigning finals MVP could keep up with Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder's 21 year old scoring champion. “Kobe Bryant is the best player in the league, one of the best players in the world,” Durant told reporters. “He’s Kobe Bryant. He’s going to come out and lead his team. That’s what he’s been doing for 12 or 13 years,” Durant continued. “He doesn’t really have to score on this team to win games now. People say he’s lost a step or whatever, but he’s still the same Kobe Bryant.”

Kobe Bryant Misses Out On Pre-Playoff Games
The Los Angeles Lakers gave Kobe Bryant the night off for the second game in a row to allow him to rest his legs and aching right index finger. The Lakers need only one victory or a Nuggets loss in the final five games to lock up the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. Kobe Bryant's aching finger contributed to 13 of 47 shooting in his previous two games, so coach Phil Jackson chose to rest him to get ready for the playoffs. According to Reuters:

LA Lakers Dominate The Court 3-0 Without Kobe Bryant
NBA star, Kobe Bryant missed the Los Angeles Lakers' final game before the All-Star break with a sore left ankle. Bryant originally sprained his ankle on Jan. 29 in Philadelphia and aggravated it last week. However, the Los Angeles Lakers continued to thrive in the absence of Kobe Bryant, beating the Utah Jazz 96-81 on Wednesday. Lamar Odom had 25 points and 11 rebounds while Pau Gasol put up 22 points and 19 boards as the Lakers improved to 3-0 since Bryant was sidelined with an ankle injury. The Lakers' strong play without Kobe Bryant probably only reinforces the notion in many voters' minds that the NBA's most valuable player is LeBron James.
It does make sense that if the Lakers can play on without Kobe Bryant, especially being 3 - 0, that maybe Kobe 'ball hog' Bryant isn't as valuable as he'd like to think! Just a thought. You can watch video highlights of Kobe Bryant in the related video section below.

Kobe Bryant Forced To Take Out Ankle Insurance After Lebron's Shake & Bake
As he has often done in the past, LeBron James took the Cavaliers on his back and put on one of the best shows that NBA fans have seen in quite some time. With the big ticket Los Angeles Lakers coming to town and both teams owning 32 wins, James converted key possessions and led the Cavs to a 93-87 win – sweeping the Lakers series for the season and sending Kobe Bryant home to question his team’s toughness. Bryant struggled miserably from the field, making just 12-of-31 shots (7-of-23 after the first quarter), and the Lakers bricked far too many free throws (15-of-24).Naturally, Kobe took a shot at his teammates after the loss:

Kobe Bryant's Last Second 3-Pointer Seals The Miami Heat
Kobe Bryant banked in a 3-pointer over Dwyane Wade's defense at the buzzer, ending the superstars' sensational duel and sending the Los Angeles Lakers to their eighth straight victory, 108-107 over the Miami Heat on Friday night. Bryant scored 33 points, but his off-balance bank shot from straightaway over Wade's outstretched hand likely will rank among the most incredible shots of his career. Wade scored nine of his 26 points in the final 2 minutes, but missed a free throw with 3.2 seconds left to give Los Angeles one last chance to tie it with a two-point basket. Bryant went for the win, and his improbable shot kept the Lakers atop the overall NBA standings while sending Miami to its eighth loss in 12 games.

Kobe Bryant and His wife being sued because she is a tyrant
Kobe Bryant and his wife are being sued by their house maid stating that Vanessa Bryant was abusive towards her.
" Maria Jimenez claims Vanessa called her “lazy, slow, dumb, a f—ing liar, and f—ing sh-t.” In the lawsuit filed in Superior Court in Orange County, Jimenez claims Vanessa accused her of stealing her (mouth) retainer. Jimenez says it got so bad — Vanessa allegedly “badgered, harassed and humiliated Maria by yelling and screaming at Maria and criticizing her in front of Kobe, the Bryants’ children, employees and other people in the household” — she threatened to quit but Kobe talked her out of it. The final straw: When Vanessa went nuclear because Maria put an expensive blouse in the washer. Vanessa demanded that Maria put her hand in a bag of dog feces to retrieve the price tag for the blouse. Marria says she wanted to quit and Vanessa responded that she “had to work until payday to pay for the $690 blouse, which she did.”
Don't you love how one mexican gets a little bit of money (really a lot of Kobe's) and goes all Conquistador on other mexicans? I know this sounds racist, but it's not...think of it as Chappelle like commentary and a crying shame.
