Carmelo Anthony Still Wants Out Of Denver
Carmelo Anthony is still campaigning to be traded from the Denver Nuggets. The native New Yorker still has his eyes on the New York Nicks exclaiming the Obama-like slogan, it's time for change.
"They want to sit down and talk, but my thing is it's way beyond this year," said Anthony, breaking his silence on the topic. "It ain't got nothing to do with the new GM, president, the players. For me, it's a time for change.
"If I do nothing now, I'm never going to do nothing. I feel like my time is now to make a decision if I want to leave or if I want to stay."
The Nuggets feel they can make a deal with the Nets but prefer, according to a league executive, to wait until after the season to see if they can convince Anthony to sign the three-year, $65 million extension by the June 30 If they can't, the Nuggets would attempt to snare assets from the Knicks in a sign-and-trade in July when he is a free agent.
