Rapper Waka Flocka Defends His Decision To Consult Suge Knight
Rapper Waka Flocka is well aware of the reputation of Suge Knight and Death Row which is why he felt the need to defend his decision to seek consultation from Suge. Now we know why Waka was spotted with Suge in LA last year. The rapper who stated this past summer he was retiring from the game is working double time to build his portfolio. And what better place and Hollywood?
Flocka tells XXL Magazine of his decision,
“You gotta really start pulling in people in the game who know the game. Suge is not the only one. I’mma start snatching in the real ones. Suge helped me get a good movie deal. Now I need to get on the TV screen. Ain’t nothing wrong with fuckin’ with some Gs.”
“I f**k with Master P too. They’re just good for information homie… "[Knight] is helping me oversee the company. [...] I’m not trying to be ‘Pac, I’m not trying to be Death Row. I’m Brick Squad Monopoly. My mother is still my manager. I ain’t changing s**t. It is what it is. But its like having Jordan and Kobe. Why not play with both?”
Interesting...guess Suge Knight getting shot and knocked out makes him a "g".

BET Hip-Hop Awards is a Hip-Hop Failure - Update
BET Hip-Hop Awards - The BET Hip-Hop Awards should be known as the most culminating event of the year for all artist and fans of the music genre; however, this years event confirmed that the Black Entertainment Television production, which was held at the Civic Center in Atlanta, has failed miserably.
The first part of the show which included a performance from Rick Ross, Diddy and MC Hammer kicked the event off in a respectable way, but it was an embarrassing disaster there afterward.
The most obvious issue with this year's show was the number of hip hop's A-rated stars that shunned the awards show. Neither Jay-Z, T.I., Drake, Nas, Eminem, or Kanye West - who made an "SNL" appearance - thought enough of the show to be in attendance. Trey Songz presented an award, but he was a lonely fish in the sea of R&B artist who often collaborate with rappers.
Most of the nights performances were bla minus the opening performance, The Dipset reunion, and the previously taped MC cyphers. All in All the BET Hip Hop Awards is looking irrelevant right now and BET's Executive Vice President of Entertainment & Music Programming, Stephen Hill, got more problems than Waka Flocka if BET is going to change that.
