Keri Hilson and Big Boi Take Chicago Students to School.
Keri Hilson and Big Boi stressed the importance of education to students at Chicago’s Collins Academy High School during Thursday’s Get Schooled National Challenge and Tour. Keri Hilson, who was a former co-captain of her high school basketball team, wore her No Boys Allowed necklace and performed “Knock You Down.” She also offered her advice to the youth.
“I think the key to making it through high school and life in general is knowing what’s important, attacking that, and executing everything.”
Big Boi, who was in high school when OutKast blew up said musical success did not stop him from finishing school.
“Before I started doing music, I was actually planning on going to school to study child psychology, but when I was in eleventh grade we went platinum. I still finished and graduated with honors.”

Big Boi Pipin' Mad At Jive Records For Tying To Kill His Record

Outkast's Big Boi has blasted his former label Jive Records for trying to end his music career. Big Boi left Jive for Def Jam after the executives at Jive gave him the "run-around" about releasing his new album Sir Lucious Left Foot. We reported earlier that Big Boi gave Jive his new singles, "Shutterbug" and "General Patton" over two years ago, and the label bosses told him they didn't know how to promote his album. Sir Lucious Left Foot was delayed several times and Big Boy claims that Jive delayed the album on purpose. Big Boi even claimed that Jive played mind games with him and stalled negotiations with Def Jam when Big Boi was trying to leave Jive. "They kept saying, 'OK, we're going to put it (the album) out.' 'We're not going to put it out.' 'The album is coming this day!' 'No, it's not.' Or when I was going out of town to shoot videos, they were like, 'No, the budget's not cleared.' They almost tried to kill my career with that waiting."

Big Boi To Go "Full Throttle"

Grammy Award winning Outkast group member Big Boi has been tapped as the new face of Coca-Cola's "Full Throttle Fury" Energy Drink.
With Big Boi as a new spokesman, the company is also relaunching Full Throttle Fury with a completely new look and experience, in an attempt to attract the lucrative African-American male demographic.
"Full Throttle Fury" appeals to men like me who consider themselves real and authentic, whose work style is to go all the way," Big Boi said. "I spend most of my days in the recording studio or involved in new projects. Full Throttle Fury has a great taste and provides me the energy to get through my busy day."
The rapper will take part in an upcoming advertising and marketing campaign, which will also see "Full Throttle Fury" act as the official sponsor of record release parties for Big Boi’s upcoming album Sir Luscious Leftfoot: Son of Chico Dusty, according to AllHipHop.com.
Full Throttle Fury will also act as sponsors of a multi-city promo tour, that will hit at least 50 venues nationwide.
"My new album Sir Luscious Left Foot embodies the energy of "Full Throttle Fury," where I feel like the body of work I’ve created on this CD will hopefully motivate my fans even more with its high energy and conscious lyrics as I’ve always created in my music," Big Boi added.
Rafael Acevedo, Senior Brand Manager of Energy Drinks, says Big Boi's "drive to excel" was consistent with the direction Full Throttle's new image is adopting.
"He truly embodies the Full Throttle mindset of 'Go Full Throttle or Go Home'," said Acevedo. "Full Throttle Fury will play a vital roll in Big Boi’s upcoming album release activities and concert tour—including product integration, customized point of sale displays, and sponsorship opportunities."
Full Throttle Fury is available in stores nationwide, while reports state that Sir Luscious Leftfoot: Son of Chico Dusty will hit stores on October 28.
