Nas Talks His Relationship With Kelis In Complex
 Nas opens up about his marriage and subsequent divorce from singer Kelis in the latest issue of Complex magazine. The two are embroiled in a nasty court battle that left Nas monthly debt of over $30K to Kelis. Despite the heft child and spousal support payment Nas says there's no ill will towards Kelis. Check out excerpts from the interview below:
There's a record about Kelis on Life Is Good that goes into what made you fall in love with her. How hard was that breakup? What was the feeling when she had your son after you were separated?
There was a point where we were trying to hold onto a relationship that was finished. She was pregnant and in the studio while we were recording Distant Relatives, and he would move when the music would come on. That was a great feeling for me, just to have that feeling of family. It ended around the time the record was being done.
There were times when it didn’t bother me, and there were times when it bothered me a lot. There were times when I was thinking, Damn. I had this shit all planned out, and now I’ve failed. That was hard on me, because I don’t like to fail at anything. Accepting that I failed at this relationship—and it was public—messed me up. You ask yourself, How could that person be so cold? And I’m sure she felt the same way about me. It was ugly.
I saw Kelis as Courtney Love—but I also saw her as a mahogany queen. I saw us as a beautiful thing.

Nas Catches Heat From Baby Mama Over Song 'Daughter'
Not everyone is feeling Nas' latest track 'Daughter' who he talks about his first child with Carmen named Destiny. The lyrics elaborate on Destiny's dating a boy who's in and out of jail but also Nas' not being there enough to help guide his daughter.

Nas To Forfeit All Money Earned From Next Album To The IRS
Nas is working on new material but if he was hoping to eat some food from it..think again. After racking up a hefty debt with the IRS, to the tune of $6 million, the Queens Bridge rapper will not see any cent until the debt is covered.
According to TMZ, documents filed in Georgia authorized the IRS to garnish Nas' salary via music publishing, intercepting any checks owed to him by BMI and ASCAP.
Damn! Is it too late for a payment plan??

Jay-Z Brings Out Nas For Historical Carnegie Hall Performance
 Jay-Z made history last night when he booked two nights back to back at Brooklyn's Carnegie Hall. Beyonce made her first post pregnancy appearance looking amazing in a red, body hugging Alice Temperly dress and a tattoo of Blue Ivy!
Jay-Z filled the Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall for two charity concerts that will benefit Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation and the United Way. The tickets varied from $150 to $2,000.
Shawn was backed by a full orchestra that included Roots drummer ?uestlove, Young Guru playing DJ, soul singer Bilal.
Jay shared the love with Alicia Keys who joined him for 'Empire State of Mind' and Nas who performed 'N.Y. State of Mind' and his own track "If I Ruled the World."

 Jay-Z and Nas once hailed as one the greatest rivalries in hip-hop were standing side by side to celebrate Nas' 38th birthday. It's great to see the hip hop legends in the making put their old beef aside. We can't help but wonder why Jay-Z decided to bum it down to Nas' snazzy birthday party though?!?!. His too young shirt, off colored slacks and he didn't even have the decency to wear shades in doors!!!

Singer Kelis Falls On Hard Times
 Singer Kelis has fallen on some hard times when the Scottish Music Festival she was set to headlined was cancelled just weeks before the event.
Kelis and a few other unknowns like Paloma Faith, Tinchy Stryder and The Waterboys were to perform at Seaton Park in Aberdeen. However due to poor ticket sales the festival was abruptly cancelled.
The organizers statement read, "We are very sorry to announce that the Northern Lights Music Festival 2011 has been cancelled. To all those that supported the festival, thank you. All tickets will be refunded at point of sale. With very best wishes, the Northern Lights Team."
Gosh where is Nas when you need him....sigh...hopefully Kelis got paid an advance.....?

Kelis Admits She Doesn't Regret Divorce From Nas
 Kelis admits that she doesn't regret her divorce from Nas. While the divorce had it's bumpy roads with nasty custody and child support battles, Kelis said she's content.
She tells Attitude magazine: 'I'm not a big regret person. I've been divorced, and I can still say I don't regret it.
'I'm a big believer that if a bad situation happens, it is a lesson that needs to be learned, just once.'
She added that entering her 30s has brought her a new level of contentment.
'My mum told us that when we hit our thirties we'd feel our most beautiful and sexy and smart, and I really do feel like that,' she said.
'I don't know if it's because I expected it or if it's really true.
'I'm a mother and I do what I love for a living, and I have enough money to do what I want but not so much that it's a stress. I think happiness is a momentary feeling but I'm very content. I feel really good.'
We wonder if Nas also has no regrets with the divorce.

Kelis & Nas Patch Things Up After The Divorce Dust Settles
Hip hop star Nas, and R&B ex-wife Kelis both say that the worst part of their stormy relationship has finally passed. After settling in what was clearly a bitter divorce battle with numbers like $44,000/month flying around, the former hip hop couple has settled into what is now described as a good 'friendship'. In a recent interview with Us Magazine, Kelis says:
“Everything’s fine. We are divorced, but there is no point to fighting there is nothing to fight about. I am super happy; my life is awesome. We are friends, we get along now and it’s all good.”

 Nas owes the IRS a cool $2.5 million for 2006 and 2007! Between Kelis trapping his income for many more years and the IRS banging on his door, Nas will have one headache after another. Nas Explains Open Letter, But Scared To Condemn Thugs!
Nas joined the myriad of celebrities who spoke out since the brutal murder of chicago honor roll student Derrion Albert was caught on tape. First Nas wrote an open letter to the murderers, and most recently Nas went on 106 & Park to discuss the open letter and what motivated him to 'blog' about it. Although you could tell there was some level of sincerity, it was very clear that Nas was not going in on the murderers the same way he would go in on, say Jay-Z for dissing his baby mama on wax. When asked about an end to 'thuggin' Nas stutters over an answer saying 'instead of thuggin'... well... we gon'... thug... but, it don't gotta be like that'. Huh? Nas, didn't you just see where thuggin' leads? We've all seen you go to war with Jay-Z for dissing your baby mama, but you're afraid to condemn a culture that would murder a 16 year old college-bound honor roll student for fear of losing street cred?  Kelis and her greedy enterprising lawyer decided to take their case against Nas to another level! After being awarded a nice chunk of money for child and spousal support Kelis and her lawyer went back to re-calculate things because $55k/month just isn't enough. Here is the break down:
- Nas pulls in $244,826 a month
– Kelis rakes in a relatively paltry $13,744 a month
– Kelis should get child support totaling $17,225 a month
– Kelis should get spousal support totaling $72,728
– Nas should pay retro child support totaling $29,522
– Nas should pay retro spousal support totaling $281,571

 Kelis is apparently getting some payback for the back and fourth she's been experiencing with her estranged husband Nas. Both Kelis and Nas were due in court for more cut throat divorce drama. But instead Kelis had to give birth...and Nas was not invited! “Nas is in New York City today, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his son. It was his intention to be there for the birth, but unfortunately he has not been allowed to be present,” a source close to the rapper told AllHipHop.com. “While this is clearly heartbreaking to him, Nas continues to offer his support and love to his new baby boy and his mother.”
Could it be that because things are soo strained that Kelis would be further stressed if the father of the child she's birthing was in the room or was it down right mean?

Kelis Put Nas Cheating Ways on Blast!!
 Kelis took to her twitter page to put soon to be ex-husband Nas on full
blast. She encourages more women who are victims of infidelity to blame the
husbands more than the other woman; while also saying that both parties and
"stupid and pitiful".
For Kelis's part her and her lawyer are fighting claims that she starred in
her very own sex tape claiming the infamous, "it wasn't me" story. So until she
proves beyond a doubt it wasn't her, sympathy on Nas's infidelity will be hard
to come by. We need all the facts to make a full judgement, right?

I guess Nas isn’t soo much of a sucker like people thought when he stayed with Kelis after the sex tape was dropped. Word was that Kelis was talking trash after filing for divorce saying she would “take him for everything he got”. I guess Nas might have read a blog or two and figured he was getting played.
Now he has asked a judge to refuse spousal support, make Kelis pay her own legal fees and most importantly, joint custody of their unborn son. Things might start to get ugly with these two. So, harsh or fair?

Kelis’s Sex Tape The Reason For Divorce?
 Everyone read about Kelis’s alleged sex tape with an unknown rapper some time back. Nas’s image took a beating but it looked like they kept on moving. Now word is that Nas did indeed shut down and eventually wanted out, Kelis thought a child would patch things up, they separate for two weeks and Kelis beat him to the punch filed for divorce first!
In either case will a woman’s past always hunt her? If it happened before you became committed does it count?

I did not see this coming! Kelis who is 7 months pregnant has filed for divorce from Nas! A spokesperson from her camp confirmed the divorce with Vibe.com. Why can’t these marriages work?! Word through the grapevine is Nas was abusive and both were cheating during the marriage! I liked these two as a couple, is Bey and Jay next in a few years?!

 Nas is having trouble coming up with baby names for his unborn son and is actually thinking about opening it up to the public saying, "Yeah, (we are deciding between) a few baby names. It's kinda hard. I've been thinking about kinda putting something online: 'Choose his name'. You get a couple stacks (financial reward) for that. We take care of you for that. You win something real. But we're thinking now."
Seriously Nas, in a recession you would pay people “stacks” to name your son. Some advice: save it because neither you nor Kelis have big things popping and kids cost money!

Nas to Record Album with Reggae Artist Damian Marley
 Hip-hop artist Nas has confirmed he’s recording an album with reggae star Damian “Junior Gong” Marley. Jr. Gong is best known for not only being one of many sons of the great Bob Marley but for his Grammy winning album “Welcome to Jamrock” which featured Nas on the “Road to Zion” track.
Nas has big plans far beyond just recording an album with Marley saying, “..we tryin' to build some schools in Africa with this one, and trying to build empowerment. We're tryin' to show love and stuff with this album. So, the record's... all about really the 'hood and Africa also as well. That's coming out real soon."
Artist like Nas really just communicates better through their lyrics cuz everything else just sounds disjointed. I wonder if it will be a two disc like Outkast did. Nas needs something to revive his career and Jr. Gong might be the one to help, especially if Stephen Marley is producing.

 Looks like Kelis' milkshakes do more than just bring the boys to the yard, they get you pregnant too. Nas and Kelis are finally expecting their first bambino together. A source of the couple said,
“It’s all they are talking about. She is carrying hip-hop royalty! They are so excited.”
Sorry gents, don't expect to see any proof now of alleged sex tapes. Mommyhood will have all those files under wrap! But here are some pics that you can marinate on at least for the next 9 months.

There is No Hope Left for Nas
 Dj Premier would like to think that “The World Is Yours” rapper Nas can revive his fading legendary career. Yes – before you Nas stans bite my head off – he brought a lot to hip-hop and was revolutionary [for the most part] from his “Illmatic” to “N$gga/Untitled” album. But at this point to suggest that there is hope for Nas to be as successful as he was in earlier years – is a far stretch.
Dj Premier said, "I wish Nas would do an album again with just the original team, - Me, Q-Tip, Large Professor, Pete Rock and L.E.S. We all went in like we knew we had to." Premier continues saying; "I remember Tip bringing me 'One Love' and I was like 'Damn, I had to go and fix mine'. I had to change my 'Represent' beat just to compete with them - Pete played me 'The World Is Yours' before the beat was done and I was like 'Yo, I gotta make another banger' and that’s when I did 'New York State Of Mind.”

50 Cent to Nas: You’re Cold as Ice
In a recent interview, 50 Cent was asked why he isn’t creating the ‘drama’ around his album releases anymore like he has done in the past. To this Curtis responded that he isn’t the one who starts the beef but gets the credit for being a bully. Most recently Nas took a hit at 50 on his track “Queens Get the Money” saying,
