Rodney King - Rodney King Revisited 20 Years Later

Rodney King - Today, 20 years ago Rodney King, a young 25-year old man was beaten by several police officers in what later sparked the Los Angeles riots that claimed 55 lives according to CNN.
CNN looks back at the event,
After tossing back a few drinks, Rodney, then a 25-year-old convicted robber on parole, saw a police car following him and he panicked.
"I had a job to go to that Monday, and I knew I was on parole, and I knew I wasn't supposed to be drinking, and I'm like, 'Oh my God. I saw all those apartments over there, so I said, 'I'm gonna stop right there. If it goes down, somebody will see it.' "
What happened next was seen all around the world. Four white police officers, struck Rodney more than 50 times with their wood batons and shocked him with an electric stun gun.
" 'We are going to kill you, n****r,' " Rodney said police shouted. The officers denied using racial slurs.

Rodney King Looking For Another Beatdown; Wants To Fight Mike Tyson
Rodney King is looking for another Beatdown and this time he wants it from Mike Tyson. The 44-year-old 1991 Los Angelos police beat down victim says he wants to meet Mike Tyson for a boxing bout consisting of three one-minute rounds at a Las Vegas casino. King would like the event to take place before he walks down the aisle to marry a juror from his trial.
King told RadarOnline.com
"I'm in great shape. My trainer, Marty Feldman, has been training me really hard and if it happens, people will be surprised."
Rodney King has even publicly called out Mike Tyson taunting him to come out of retirement and putt on boxing gloves for a Celebrity Boxing Federation match.
"Where's the 'Iron'?" King said. "I look forward to slapping this steal fist upside his head! Fighting one of the greatest boxers of all time definitely would be off the hook. Bring it on."
King previously won a Celebrity Boxing Foundation fight when he was declared the unanimous winner in a three-round match against retired cop Simon Aouad. There has been no responce from Tyson to Rodney King's challenge. Mike may be tired of loosing to bums.

Rodney King Getting Along With His Juror Fiance

Rodney King is about to get married to the woman who helped him become a millionaire. King, the victim of a 1991 beating by Los Angeles police that sparked race riots, is marrying one of the jurors who awarded him a multi-million dollar settlement. The Rodney King, 44, recently proposed to Cynthia Kelley – juror number five – who pushed to award King a $3.8 million payout in a civil case against the city of Los Angeles. Rodney King is on the new season of Celebrity Rehab
Rodney King, made famous for being the victim of a police beating that was the catalyst for the L.A. riots is battling his vice on the newest season of Celebrity Rehab. King joins Gary Busey, model Amber Smith, Jeff Conaway and Tawny Kitaen who are all hooked on opiate painkillers. While King and former American Idol finalist Nikki McKibbin will face their drug and alcohol dependencies; and Rod Stewart's son Sean Stewart and rocker Steven Adler who are both hooked on street drugs, prescription pills and alcohol.
This should make for very interesting TV. The new season premiered last Thursday with Rodney King swigging a beer as he talking with TV's "Dr. Drew" Pinsky."Every day I wake up with a beer is a good day," he says as he drains the bottle.
