Snoop Dogg Says Daughter's Lupus May Have Saved His Marriage
West coast hip hop legend, Snoop Dogg recently revealed that it was his daughter's illness that stopped his divorce and saved his marriage. Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Broadus, filed for divorce from his wife Shante in 2004. Cori, Snoop's only daughter, was diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune disease, in 2005 and the couple reunited months after they split. Snoop says that his daughter's bout with the illness brought him and Shante closer causing him to withdraw the petition for divorce. Shante spoke about it in a recent magazine interview saying, "Without (Snoop), I don't know what I'd have done. It's amazing how this all turned out. We were gonna get a divorce. But we wouldn't have gotten through it (the lupus diagnosis) that way." Snoop added, "That's what it boiled down to. Cori's lupus showed us we need to be together forever." Snoop Dogg and his wife Shante then renewed their vows in 2008 in a beautiful start studded ceremony.
