Petra Nemcova - Petra Nemcova Refused To Quit Dancing With The Stars Despite Broken Heart Over Tsunami
 Petra Nemcova - Petra Nemcova is a 2004 Tsunami survivor and a contestant on the newest season of Dancing with the Stars. The model was on vacation with her boyfriend who was unfortunately swept out to sea while Petra held on to a palm tree for eight hours.
Now Petra is reliving the emotional stress again following the catastrophic Tsunami that hit Japan a few days ago. Petra founded the Happy Hearts charity organization soon after her 2004 experience, and dedicates much of her spare time to helping children and their families get back on their feet after natural disasters.
Speaking on U.S. show Good Morning America on Monday (3.11), Nemcova says, "To see them (images) on Friday morning was horrifying. My heart was broken. My love was going to everyone in Japan. It's something so hard to imagine without going through. And I can imagine it because of my experience. You just feel hopelessness."
Petra then inspired to back out of Dancing With the Stars until she found that she could use the 18 million Dancing with the Stars viewers to spread the word about her foundation.
Petra Nemcova tells the New York Post, "This is really 'Dancing With A Purpose' for me. And the purpose is to be able to shine more of a light on the lives of children who are forgotten."

This writer did NOT correctly research their story: Nemcova survived the "Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004" while vacationing with her then boyfriend in Thailand. This Tsunami never 'hit' Japan but rather Thailand, Sri Lanka,India, Indonesia and Maldives!
